Chapter 1 - Tragedy Struck

The day was early yet it looked as if the time was almost night. The hour was six in the morning yet the sky was dark and gloomy whilst the extreme breeze felt ice-cold. It wasn't a typical day, it was almost like the Gods were fighting up in the sky. The thunder echoed in the streets, lightning struck parts of the city, and the clouds were ready to pour out their frustration and cause trouble to the humans below.

Near the top of a skyscraper, the office of a man named Silvester Creed stood. His eyes are intimidating with the color of the ocean as if the waves can be seen in his eyes. His hair is beautifully colored red like a cherry that compliments his pale skin. His nose is pointed and his jaw is sharp and his lips are juicy and kissable as they can get. A perfect man in a terrible world.

He sighed heavily as he looked out the windows of his office, watching the rain pour down slowly until it poured forcefully. The sun dipped behind the crying clouds as the day grew darker like the void in his heart. A man with a happy family yet with a broken soul.

His phone started ringing and his eyebrows furrowed. His wife never calls him when he's working as it can be distracting. This might be important.

He sighed heavily before answering the call and putting it against his ear. "HELP ME!" A piercing scream was heard on the other line and he stood up.

"Babe? Where are you?" He worriedly ran outside his office with his car keys.

"What's wrong?" Screaming on the other line was heard and he started running to the elevator. His wife won't answer, she's in agony. He has no idea what is happening but he can only imagine what is occurring.

"SAVE ME, SILVESTER!" Her screams pierced his ears as he arrived at the elevator. He cursed under his breath to see that many employees are on board while others are waiting for their turn.

He held his head before scanning the building. He spotted the stairs and didn't waste any time running down. "TELL ME WHERE YOU ARE!" he screamed in panic as he ran down the stairs of the tall building.

He can hear his wife getting beaten up and he could do nothing about it. Her wife's cries were heard while another woman's voice suddenly spoke. "You stupid bitch, now you ask for help?!" The voice sounds familiar yet he can't remember from whom it was.

"Leave my wife alone!" he screamed as he was getting tired from running down the stairs, not even close to the bottom. He stopped to catch his breath. "You tell your wife to leave ME alone!" His eyebrows furrowed before he started running again. Why would his wife be the one to leave the woman alone? His wife is being attacked!

Once he saw an empty elevator, he immediately got in and pressed the bottom floor. He caught his breath as the worst-case scenarios entered his mind. He breathed heavily, praying for his wife to be alright. "Tell me what you want. Anything you want. Just leave her alone," he begged.

Once he was on the bottom floor, he bumped into many employees while rushing outside. He rushed to the parking lot and entered his car without wasting any time. He started the engine as he drove fast. "I'M IN OUR HOUSE!" He clenched his jaw before pulling the seatbelt as he drove like the flash.

Gunshots were heard and his heart skipped a beat. "CHLOE!" he screamed but to no avail. The other line went silent before faint groans were heard.

"Is this what you want...?" The faint voice of the woman was heard as he listened with jaws clenched. It seems like the woman got shot. "To have me dead?" the woman continued as he saw their house in the distance.

He pulled over as he saw his wife and the woman in a white bloody dress behind the window. His heart was restless as he started running from across the street to their house. The rain poured down as it covered the sounds of shouting, agony, and bullets. "I will never die, Chloe." The cold voice of the woman sent shivers down his spine before he saw her raise a gun towards his wife.

"NO!" he screamed before he reached their door that was locked as the thunder grew mad. Everything was flashing before his eyes.

"You shot me near my heart but I'm still standing here." He can now hear the woman's voice in person and he closed the call. He tried his best to open their door but to no avail.

Instead, he backed away. "It's an eye for an eye, Chloe." Her voice was evil and terrifying. Lighting struck near them.

"Stop! We can talk about this!" Chloe begged for her life but the woman was ruthless. Silvester ran to the door as his body slammed against it, smashing it open together with the sound of a gunshot. The two were in unison but one was too late.

He stood up and saw his wife's heart with a bullet lodged inside. "Unlike you, my precision is accurate." He looked at the woman whose hair was covering her face. He was too stunned to do anything as he looked at their house, which is a bloody mess.

"Silvester..." His wife's last words before she perished. He was so stunned as if the world stopped moving for a moment. The thunder grew stronger and the bolts of lightning were worse. The rain was consuming them as it covered the sounds of pain and gunshots. The world was an accomplice to his wife's death.

"I'm sorry, Silvester." That was the last thing he heard before he was knocked out cold as the sky started to clear.

Minutes after the incident, the police and medics arrived after an unknown call informed them about the incident. The news spread like a wildfire as they checked his wife for a heartbeat but found none. They were too late.

He woke up in a hospital bed. His eyes shot open as he immediately tried to get out of bed. He looked around before trying to pull the IV lodge in his arm. The nurse noticed this and they told him to calm down.

"Sir-" He pushed them away as he desperately tried looking for her.

"Where's Chloe?!" he screamed as he got up from the bed as he took the needles out of his arm. "Where's my wife?!" His desperation grew yet no one answered and instead tried pulling him back to bed but he kept resisting.

"Bring me to her!" he commanded but nobody listened. He didn't have the authority.

He opened the door as he tried running away. "My wife needs help. Where is she?! Bring me to her! Bring the police! Help her!" he screamed as other patients looked at him as if he was crazy while the nurses and doctors chased after him.

"Chloe!" he screamed desperately, looking for his wife. The memories of the incident flashed in his mind as he tried getting rid of the thought of his wife dying.

The nurse who was taking care of him injected something on his arm to make him unconscious. Everything around him started to spin as he was falling to the ground, slowly losing consciousness. Now that he was under control, they carried him back to his room.

The police couldn't identify who the mysterious caller was. That person can lead them to their answers but she was nowhere to be found as if she just vanished from existence. Everything was surreal, things escalated, and no one found an answer as to who did it.

A search for the culprit was held but she, who was wearing a white bloody dress, was never found. The woman has many connections and never paid for her sins.

A month later...

Like the day of his wife's death, the weather was strong. He's traumatized, he's full of anger. Why would someone do such a thing to his innocent wife? She didn't do anything wrong and he wants to take revenge as to who is responsible.

He breathed heavily before getting out of his car with flowers in his hand. He didn't care that the rain was soaking him. "Chloe..." he whispered as he was walking through the graveyard.

He passed by many gravestones before he reached the grave of his wife. He stopped in his tracks as he looked down at the ground. "I missed you..." he uttered as if she's still alive. He can't get over her death, it was unjustified.

Tears fell down his eyes, clearly broken. He clenched his fist as he started to squeeze the flowers he bought for her. Disappointed at himself for trying to save her to no avail, he can't forgive himself nor the killer.

"I should've been there for you," he uttered before wiping his tears and taking a deep breath. He bent down and placed the flowers down.

"I'll take revenge for you, mi amore. I won't stop until I find out who killed the love of my life." He promised to himself that no matter what happens, despite the justice being on his side, he was ready to do the injustice and take the life away from the woman who killed his wife.

The sky cleared and he stood back up. A woman in a black hoodie watched from afar as she saw how miserable he is because of his wife's death. She heavily sighed, guilty about what happened. But she knows what was right, killing her was justified but Silvester doesn't know that. Even if she tells him what actually occurred, he'll still take his wife's side.

She did the unjustifiable act to save herself. "I'm sorry," she whispered before holding her heart. She could've been the one dead, an inch closer and her life would've been taken away but she survived. This is what makes her stronger. Enemies tried to take her down but she was resistant to live her life.
