Chapter 27: Leaving?

“Come on, it’s getting late, grandfather must be worry sick about us.”

“Alright,” nodded Emily.

Joshua was leading them the path back to the cabin.

“Oh, looks like your family is here to pick you up,” said Joshua.

Emily saw a car and became sad. She didn’t want to leave yet. She’s been here with Joshua and his grandfather for a day now and she liked it. She liked the peace and quiet. They were both kind and sweet to her. She was happy.

“What’s wrong?” asked Joshua.

Emily didn’t know how to tell him that being here with him have made her happy. She was stressfree. His warmth, gentlness, and kind words have made her feel at home. She was aching for more. She didn’t want to leave him yet.

Joshua stepped in front of her and said, “What’s wrong little one?”

“Do you not want to go home?”

“I do.”
