CHAPTER FIVE

A loud voice of smashing something jerked me from my sleep, and I fell from my bed. Groaning, I looked up to the door from where the sound came. The room door was slung open and three men in black suits were standing at my door. I stood up from the floor as a man reached towards me.

"Who... who are you?" I muttered. It took me a moment to realize who those men were and why they were here. No one said anything for a while, but then the man who reached towards me shouted, “Take her.” As the man stepped inside, I backed away from them.

"Stop," I said and held out my hand in gesture. The men stopped, and I continued, "I'll come, don't grab me like an animal," I stated. Both men turned to look at the one who ordered them to take me. He nodded, and I sighed in relief. I grabbed my bag from the bed and padded my way to the door, but just as I reached the man who was ordering, he grabbed me by my shoulder while the others took off downstairs, leaving us to walk behind them.

"I'm not running. You don't have to drag me,” I spoke as he firmly gripped my shoulder. He didn’t let go though.

“Will you just let go?" I repeated to him but he didn't reply, not even spared me a glance. The man dragged me outside the hotel room where the men from before were waiting for us outside a car. The man threw me inside the car. Two men sat on each side of me in the back seat. The car started, and I sat silently. No men said anything, not even to each other. I was staring at the men beside me. The one on my right was staring outside the window. He has green eyes with blonde hair and a perfect jaw. The man on the left was similar to the right except his eyes were blue and his hairs were brown. The man who dragged me was sitting in the passenger seat. I couldn't see his eyes as he had his black glasses on. Weird, I Know.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked no one in particular hoping anyone would tell me, but none responded.

"Matt, did you finish it?" The man with glasses asked the man on my left. So, his name is Matt.

"Yes." Matt replied. My eyelids felt get heavy as the few minutes passed by in complete silence, and I fell asleep. My eyes shot open when someone shook me by my shoulder. I craned my neck to look at the man who woke me.

"Let's go," It was the same guy who dragged me from the hotel, and I nodded. Getting out of the car, my eyes fell on the huge mansion that stood in front of me. It was bigger than my own mansion. I looked around, only to find that we were far from the city and there was nothing but the mansion that stood tall before me. I immediately regretted falling asleep. Now I didn’t know where I was. How was I going to take Lindsey from here? I sighed in disappointment.

We entered the huge mansion as the man dragged me. "Where is my sister? Let me see her." I grumbled.

"If you shut up and move, you'll see her faster," was his harsh reply. I wanted to retort but just nodded for the sake of my sister. They were already treating me like a prisoner. I inhaled sharply and followed the man. All the while, I took in the beauty of the place which was vast from inside too. The entire place was brightly lit and was decorated with expensive furniture. The man led me to a door while the other men had left us. I could easily take him down. At an early age, I took defense classes because I wanted to be strong to protect someone I loved. And today I was glad I learned those skills. I knew how to use knives and guns too which was going to come in handy.

We walked through the hallways and the bright light faded away and the place suddenly became creepy. This place was the complete opposite of the mansion. Where the mansion was huge and beautiful, this place was cramped and dirty. It looked similar to jail cells. The man dragged me into one cell where my eyes fell on the slim figure of my sister. I almost ran to her. She lifted her face and her eyes landed on me. She looked fragile and her eyes were red and puffy from crying.

"Andy," her voice broke out and she stood up. I hugged her and she clutched to me as her life depended on it. I pulled away from her and my eyes roamed at her, from head to the toe. Relief flooded through me when I saw she was not hurt anywhere.

"Are you alright? Did they hurt you?" I questioned, to which she shook her head in response. I wiped her cheeks with my hand and hugged her again. The man behind us cleared his throat.

"Let's go," he announced. I nodded and held Lindsey’s hand. We stepped outside the room with the man on our heels. Now that Lindsey was with me, my mind was contemplating whether I should beat him and run away or I should wait for the perfect opportunity. I decided on the latter. We entered the lightning mansion, leaving the dark prison behind us. My eyes roamed around, but no one was there. I decided to take my chance. Letting go of my sister’s hand, I turned around and kicked the man in his head. He was taken aback, which gave me the time to grab a vase from the corner. I wrapped my fingers tightly around the vase and knocked it on his head. He grunted, and I feared that someone would hear him, but not later than a few seconds, he fell unconscious. Lindsey stayed rooted to her spot and watched me with her eyes wide as a saucer. Not wasting another second, I grabbed her hand and dragged her away.

"Run, Linds," I almost shouted, and we both took off in a run. We both halted in our tracks when we entered a hallway where stood a dozen of men in our way, pointing their guns at us.

I protectively stepped in front of my sister and pulled her behind me. We both were scared. Beads of sweat formed on my forehead. No one spoke a word but their guns said it all ‘DO NOT MOVE’ and I did that for Lindsey. Lindsey was clutching my tank top from behind.

Then entered a man from the front door walking directly towards us. The man was tall, taller than me with his trim build body. His eyes were fixed on me and his teeth were clenched together. His face was stone cold and I could tell that he was furious. He wore a blue suit that perfectly fitted his body as if made only for him. As he walked towards me, he undid the top button of his shirt and even though I didn’t want to admit it, he looked terribly handsome. He stopped a few feet away from me. I gulped at his mere sight as he carried an aura around him which screamed Power. Beckham Grayson. He didn’t need an introduction. His presence was enough for that.

He held my eyes for a few seconds and I shifted in my position, feeling uncomfortable. "Trying to run away. Again,” he voiced, his voice was firm and thick, making goosebumps erupt all over my body. He noticed I was uncomfortable in his presence and his lips turned upwards into a cruel smirk.

"Let my sister go," I yelled at him, finding my courage again. Within a second, I was held against a wall and that man was squeezing my throat. "What did you say?" He roared in my face. My eyes went wide, and I squirmed in his hold, trying my best to get out of his grip. He clasped me and tightened his grip, making it hard for me to breathe. I tapped his hand with mine, knowing I was going to faint. He must have noticed my face going red as he loosened his grip a bit but didn’t let go. I glanced at Lindsey, who was standing there looking in horror.

"Let my sister go. You said you'll let her go once I come to you," I said, although my voice barely left my throat, looking directly into his eyes. For the first time, I noticed his eyes, which were electric blues. His gaze was so intense that anyone would have cowered in fear from him.

"You're in no position to tell me what to do. You killed my brother," he dangerously said. A shiver ran down my spine when I heard him. I swallowed a lump in my throat and tried to say something, but nothing came out of my mouth.

"That was an accident," Lindsey’s voice broke out between us, which made his eyes sharply land on her. He let go of my throat. I sighed in relief and gulped a few large breaths. I closed my eyes for a moment to calm my racing heart. But then my ears rang with gunshots, making my eyes shot open. I craned my neck and watched blood pouring out of my sister’s body.
