16. Thunderous voice

Tallulah's POV

I have to admit it, when I came out here to say those things about Marcus, I thought I was going to surprise him, but I found myself in shock when he admitted to everything without even denying the false ones. It was as if he was purposely testing the limits of his father's self control which was now past its breaking point.

I watched as Mr Winston rose to his feet to contend with the temper burning inside him.

“How dare you?” He screamed.

His eyes fell to the table, scanning it like he was searching for an object to throw at Marcus, who remained in his seat without flinching or showing any sign of remorse in his expression.

I was startled by his father's outburst, but I managed to speak,

“Mr Winston, I'll be leaving very early tomorrow. I don't think I can't stay here anymore.” I announced.

His raging eyes dimmed when they fell to where I sat. I felt my mom's hand grab my mine.

She voiced, “Of course not, Lula, you can't leave. This is your home now.”
