“Yes, I heard you.” He narrowed his eyes at me. “But why would he want to have dinner with us?” He asked again, sounding suspicious.

I clenched my teeth and raised my voice. “I didn’t say he! I said they!” I yelled, frustrated. He was so slow and dense. He didn’t get the hint that I was trying to play mind games with him.

I glared at him and snapped. “Thank you for being quiet,” I said sarcastically. “He and his wife are inviting us for dinner. I made acquaintances with his wife earlier today and she sent me an invitation,” I explained.
