“Morgan,” his head snapped back to the dark woods behind him and he saw his mother and the head enchantress walking towards him with a confused look on their faces as they scanned the place.
“Who are you talking to?” Calliope asked and was about to take another step towards her son when the enchantress hastily pulled her back. She looked back at her questioningly only to turn her head back to her son when she realized the enchantress’ watchful eyes directed at him.
Her eyes widened when she saw Morgan’s eyes glowing.
“Morgan,” Inessa called out as she stares at the young man with her watchful eyes.“Let’s talk some other time, Amira. I needed to do something,” Morgan said as his eyes flew over to the sky.‘Oh. “Amira?” The young goddess’ ears perked up after hearing Morgan calling her. She immediately turned away from the pavilion and ran towards the direction heading to the Pond of Living. “Morgan's face contorted as his face flinched away from his mother's hands. She was currently tending to his wounds.Since his wolf had left him, Morgan also lost the ability to heal quickly. Morgan wiped the sweat on his forehead with the back of his hands before he resumed pushing the wheelbarrow filled with soil that would be used in planting. The bright sun glaring over him, he pushed through his way back to the packhouse. He can feel his body burning as he shook his head, struggling to get rid of the blurry vision he’s currently seeing. It was drought season and the Crescent Walkers are having a hard time coping up with the scarcity of water. The sun was about to rise when Morgan realized that he’s being watched. He looked up at the orange sky while subtly checking out his surroundings. He may not be able to turn but he’s a trained soldier. His whole body suddenly tenses up as his senses became more and more wary of his observers. Observers. There are lots of them. Probably the wolves from Nighthill that had finally caught up with him. He continued walking, pretending like he wasn’t able to sense anything around him but his eyes were all over the place. He’s defenseless, hydrated, starving, and almost on the verge of collapsing. These wolves can easily tear him apart within a second. He’s weak and all he could do was think. He needed to outsmart these beasts in order to survive. Morgan sighed heavily, giving up on thinking of any ways he can outrun the predators around him. He stopped walking and sat on the ground while resting his back on the wheelbarrow’s handle before closing his eyes.
