Adelina Kalashnikov (P.O.V.)
As soon as Isla left the house, I changed into socially acceptable attire and teleported to her house. If she wanted freedom, she could have it, but I did not say I would not keep tabs on her every move.
I watched as she got into the garage then drove out of the driveway a couple of seconds after. When Dimitri decided to involve himself in my business, I made sure to do my homework on him and I had an idea of where his firm was located. I teleported to the firm and stood in an area where I could not be seen. I masked my scent to prevent Isla from being able to sniff me out.
I had a feeling it would take her a while to get here, so I walked around the building and made a note of all the cameras around the building. It was a big building after all, and I could not be too careful.
Dimitri Zane (P.O.V.)
Fortunately for me, the meeting I had today got canceled so I returned to my office
Dimitri Zane (P.O.V.)The man nodded and I walked ahead, signaling him to follow me to the office. This can certainly save me a trip to the realm. When we got to my office, I took a seat behind my desk.“Please have a seat.” I gestured to him to take a seat on the chair directly in front of my desk.“Have you ever worked directly under the queen?”He nodded.“Yes, I have. For a couple of years actually.”“What was your position?”“Well, I was an intern under her reign as a student to become a warrior in the realm.”“What did your studies include?”“Well, I had to delve a lot into history and information about the queen that would be needed to protect her. Such as her enemies, why people would be interested in coming after
Isla Kalashnikov (P.O.V.)Dimitri has yet to fill me in on what was going on and I was beginning to freak out. Since he got into my car and I have been driving around Los Angeles aimlessly because I was instructed to not stop, he has been talking to himself as if he was losing his mind.“Dimitri you are going to have to tell me what is going on at some point because like it or not we will have to stop for gas soon,” I said trying to gain his attention.“Let us go on a date.” He said out of the blue.“What? What do you mean let us go on a date? Right now? No. Tell me what is going on first. Stop beating around the bush.” I scolded as I stopped at a red light.I shifted in my seat and turned my body to face him.“Come on, it will be fun. Plus, it might give us a chance to talk. You know, catch up on how the weather has been lately.” He joked nervously and scratched his head.
Adelina Kalashnikov (P.O.V.)Well, I felt like an outsider. I watched as Isla walked away, leaving Dimitri and me alone together. I hated him so much right now. He was going to ruin all of my plans.“What are you doing?” I asked him sternly.“Stopping you from destroying that girl’s life. I know what your plans are, and I need you to stop lying to her. Or else I will tell her everything. Do not think for a second that I do not have my suspicions about what really happened to her parents. I will discover where you are hiding them, and I will bring you to your knees.” Dimitri warned and all I could do was chuckle and shake my head.He was bluffing. There is no way in hell he could be onto what I was really planning to do but his suspicions are going to mess with Isla’s head. She is so naïve.“Tell me what you know and maybe, just maybe, I will tell you whether you are right or wrong.&rdq
Isla Kalashnikov (P.O.V.)I stood impatiently by the door while Adelina tried to find ways to prolong my stay in the house this morning.“Okay, at least take some food with you instead of spending money. You really need to learn to save sweetheart.” Adelina pointed out and I rolled my eyes.“I am okay. I will manage at work today.” With that, I opened the door and left the house before she could utter another word to me.I got into my car and made my way to the office. Los Angeles traffic was the usual today, but I learned some shortcuts throughout my journey back and forth to the office, so I got here within an hour. I made my way to Dimitri’s office immediately.I should have brought him breakfast this morning. Damn.I thought to myself but shrugged it off.If he happens to be hungry this morning, then I can take that as an opportunity to take him out to breakfast. I checked the schedul
Isla Kalashnikov (P.O.V.)I figured that while I am here in the palace alone, I should do some investigating. First, I had to ensure I was home alone. I walked around the palace, opening every door and checking every room to make sure Adelina was not there. Can fairies turn invisible?I pondered. It may sound like a stupid question, but I could not be certain about the abilities of a fairy. Especially one that has been appointed the title of queen of all fairies.I had been walking around for about an hour at this point. This place was so big, and I have not even covered the rooms upstairs yet. Though the rooms on the second floor are only bedrooms and bathrooms and I highly doubt Adelina would randomly occupy a guest room or bathroom when her room itself is like the size of my house back in the human world.I sighed from tiredness and walked into the kitchen to grab myself an energy drink. My human form was really unfit and that i
Isla Kalashnikov (P.O.V.)I wanted to manifest my vampiric side but did not know how to. I have only manifested that part of me by accident whenever I got too angry or felt murderous. With knees weakened by fear, I continued to walk deeper into the room toward the nerve-wracking sound. What I found was simply gut-wrenching. I wanted to throw up, but at the same time, I was too horrified to muster enough muscle spasms to regurgitate my dinner from last night.“M-mum...dad?” I rushed over to their limp bodies to inspect them.I immediately checked for a pulse on both of them.“NO NO NO NO NO!!!! THIS CANNOT BE HAPPENING. PLEASE WAKE UP. PLEASE!!! PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ME!!! MUMMY!! DADDY!!! SAY SOMETHING!!” I screamed repeatedly at their limp bodies.Soon enough, I felt a weak pulse on
Isla Kalashnikov (P.O.V.)I do not think that Adelina has noticed my absence as yet. I mean, why would she? I have not been gone for long and there is little to no indication that something is going on. That is, unless she goes to the dungeon and notices that my parents were moved, and my father was fed water. Probably not smart on my part but I could not help it. I could not just leave my father to suffer as much as he did before he died. I had to do something. It was the least I could do for abandoning them.I was finally out of the forest; I found my car and I immediately got drove out of the area. I knew to myself that I could not go home because Adelina would be expecting me to go there. I did not have any friends or family to turn to, so I was stuck. Maybe I could go to a hotel, but I did not have that kind of money. I worked off and on for Dimitri but never worked enough to actually get paid. That is also another thing that has been weigh
Isla Kalashnikov (P.O.V.)I slowly walked toward the door, and I opened it. I did not want to aggravate her any more than I may already have.Adelina stood there with disappointment written on her face.“What are you doing here Isla? I thought you had work today. I would not have pegged you to be the type to lie about your whereabouts just so you can have some alone time with your boyfriend.” She scolded and shook her head in disappointment as she stepped inside.Oh, so she does not know that I know about her secret.Play it cool Isla. You can get through this.I took a deep breath and walked toward the living room to take a seat on the couch. This was really my weak attempt to seem nonchalant but really my heart was in my a*s.Alessandro Petrov (P.O.V
