Chapter 6 The Agreement

Magnus

I was pacing up and down in my study thinking of what I could do so the Council of Wolves would retract the bounty they had so generously offered in exchange for me.

Now that Celeste is dead, I could do whatever I want without any obstacles in my way. Although, I'm still ticked off I wasn't able to find that damn ring of hers. The Moon Goddess never plays fair especially for a big bad wolf like me.

The Council of Wolves were starting to be a real pain in the neck. They had announced they were offering a bounty for my head, whether I be dead or alive. I mean, why would they care if I sell drugs or smuggle stuff? It's not like I'm doing it to the wolves.

"Magnus, kidnapping Omegas and making them sex slaves isn't something the Council of Elders would willfully condone. Why don't we just focus on humans? The Omegas are still our brethren," Lilith said, after she read the sheet of paper the Council Elders had put up at the gates of territories of all the wolf packs in the country. She, for one, never liked the idea of using Omegas for my human trafficking operations, but I had wolves to satisfy and female humans, although they did serve the purpose, sometimes left my patrons hanging.

"Or you can just recruit Omegas who would prefer to be sex workers rather than abducting them and forcing them to have sex. Some Omegas would probably prefer working as a prostitute given their dismal working conditions in their respective packs anyway. We just have to offer them better living conditions and maybe benefits. You'll save a lot on whatever you guys are injecting them with." Mary's suggestion did ring true. Most Omegas were worked to the bone without decent food or shelter. If I could offer them a better life maybe I wouldn't have to shoot them up with heroine.

"Why are we talking about Omegas anyway? Shouldn't we be discussing what we should do to get the Council Elders off our backs? Don't you girls get it?! Without Celeste they can't even get near me. Unless, you girls want that bounty." I stared at the three of them, scrutinizing the reactions on their faces. I needed to make sure they wouldn't betray me. The bounty was in gold and was a big enough amount to live comfortably on a private island away from prying eyes.

"How can you think that, Magnus? Without you, there is no us." I caressed Jinx's face after she said that. She was the youngest and my favorite sex partner. I sometimes saw love in her eyes when we had sex, but I wasn't sure if she saw past my scars. She was a witch and had the magic to make me look like anyone she wanted to. Was she really in love with me or in love with someone she pictured me to be?

"There is not enough gold in this world for us to betray you Magnus. So, what do you propose we should do?" Lilith, on the other hand, I could not do without. She was the wisest among the three although Mary sometimes gave her a run for her money.

"I propose we wage war against the wolves and the humans until the Council of Wolves submits to our demands." I sat at my desk and began to list a number of my demands on a piece of paper. After jotting down the list, I read what I had written down. I took my pen and crossed out all I had listed except for one.

"Take this and produce copies to be handed to all packs so the Council Elders will take notice. Tonight we start our onslaught at Port Angeles, territory of the Howling Wolf Pack. Take all their women, human or wolf, kill all the men, pillage as you see fit, and burn everything down to the ground."

Lilith takes a look at what I had written down and she smiled in approval.

I WILL WAGE WAR UNTIL YOU SUBMIT TO MY DEMANDS.

I DEMAND TO BE THE UlTIMATE CRIME LORD OF EACH CORNER OF THE COUNTRY AND NO WOLF SHOULD EVER INTERFERE NOR INTERVENE IN MY OPERATIONS.

"I will make sure they receive this Magnus. I will also inform your Beta of our plans for tonight and have the men prepare for tonight's attack ." Lilith walked out of the room with the sheet of paper in her hand and closed the doors behind her.

I took of my clothes and went to the sofa near the balcony of my study and laid down. "Girls, it's time for you to suck." Jinx and Mary stood up and undressed, giggling as they climbed on top of me. Mary took my shaft in her mouth, licking the tip of its head, while Jinx sat on my face, her sex spread out in front of my mouth.

Ahhhhhh...pleasure first before war. I started eating to my heart's content.

High Elder

"High Elder, there is a reply to our bounty on Magnus. It is from Magnus himself." I snatched the paper from the Elder's hand and read it. For the love of the Moon Goddess! I threw the piece of paper on my desk and scratched my head in frustration. He threatened to wage war if he is not allowed to continue with his criminal operations without any interference from the wolves. Damn you, Magnus!

"I assume he will attack tonight. Make sure all wolf packs are on high alert status. Tell all the Elders to convene for an emergency council meeting. Tell them to make haste. Lives are at stake!" Elder Thomas bowed and exited my chambers. I stood up and began tidying my desk so I could meet the council for our emergency meeting.

I had suggested to the council before to provide protection to the High Priestess Celeste. However, when it came time to vote on the matter, everyone agreed except for one. Without a unanimous decision, I could not provide the necessary measures to keep Celeste safe. After all she had done for us, for the wolves, she was left alone to face Magnus and his Dark Witches. I should have done something. Now, I have to live with the regret of my choices.

I have kept a close eye on the Elder who voted nay. I assumed he had an alliance with Magnus, however I have never had the opportunity to find any evidence which would prove of his connivance with Magnus. Well, I am a patient man...I will wait until he makes a mistake. For now, I will feign ignorance, so he will hopefully let his guard down. When that happens, I will be there to catch him at a lie.

I walked out of my chambers towards the Grand Council room. The double doors were already open and I could see there were a number of Elders already inside, waiting for the meeting to begin.

I bid everyone a good afternoon, acknowledging their presence and took a seat at the head of the table. Only a few chairs were vacant so I decided to wait until everyone was present.

"High Elder, coffee or tea?" Elder Thomas' assistant whispered in my ear for my choice of beverage.

"I would like a glass of red wine this time, Laura. And some cheese please, if it is not too much to ask."

"Of course not, High Elder. There is cheese in the kitchen. I will get you some and I'll add some slices of bread, just the way you like it." She smiled at me and bowed. I watched her exit the room and prayed she would be back soon with my wine. I needed a drink.

"High Elder, what is this all about?"One of the Elders to my right asked in a concerned voice. I raised my hands to calm them. I wanted everyone present before we started.

"Let's wait for everyone shall we. I know many of you need to work, however this is of great importance and I need a decision as soon as possible." The Elders nodded their heads and resumed talking to each other while sipping on their drinks. I just sat there, alone, not wanting to take part in the chitchat. I had too much on my mind.

The missing Elders entered the room followed by Elder Thomas and Laura. Laura placed the wine I had requested as well as a saucer of cheese and bread in front of me on the table. I thanked her and took a sip of my wine. The fruity bouquet swirled around my tongue and its scent tickled my nose. Ah, I felt a bit better.

After Laura finished serving the Elders, she bowed and left the room, closing the double doors behind her. I coughed to clear my throat and proceeded with the meeting.

"I'm sorry I called all of you today. There has been a reply to the bounty we offered in exchange for Magnus. This reply comes from no other than Magnus himself."

I heard some of the Elders gasp while the Elder I have kept my eye on, made a lopsided grin. This, I figured, will be a short meeting. I had a feeling no one would disagree this time unlike my meeting for the protection of Celeste.

"He demands to continue his criminal operations as the one and only crime lord in the country without any interference among the wolves or...he will wage war. Thus, I would like to suggest we give in to his demands and form an agreement. I will, of course, ask for some provisions from him, as a sign of good faith, that will cater to all wolves."

"When does he plan to start his onslaught?" An Elder asked, panic laced his voice.

"I would assume tonight." I sighed and shook my head, trying to accept reality. "We all know how Magnus can be. He tends to act first without thinking things through, which has, I'm afraid to admit, worked for him ever since he became the Alpha of the Rogues. This is why I called for an emergency meeting. We must decide now. The lives of many wolves and humans are at stake if we prolong our unwillingness to agree to his terms."

"Of course, High Elder, we will all put it to a vote." Elder Thomas stood up and took over the electoral process. "Those in favor, raise their hands and say aye." Everyone raised their hands and said aye. "Those not in favor, raise their hands and say nay." We were met with silence.

I picked up the gavel and hit the table. "So agreed. I will make haste and have a message delivered to the Rogue Legion and inform them of our decision. Still, Elder Thomas, have the scouts inform us of any movement Magnus and his army makes." Elder Thomas nodded his head and bowed.

"Meeting adjourned." I hit the gavel on the table once again and the Council Elders hurriedly made their exit, not wanting to partake in any negotiations with Magnus.

I went back to my office to write a short missive informing Magnus of the Council's decision to submit to his demands. All wolves will allow him the right to establish himself as whatever he sees fit. In return, all I ask of him, was to never bother any wolf or wolf pack ever again. In short, we would never interfere with his affairs, likewise he would never interfere in ours.

I signed it and placed the Council of the Wolves seal to make the handwritten missive a legal binding document that would withstand the test of time.

I took off my robe, put on my suit jacket and straightened my necktie. I folded the important piece of paper, placed it in envelope and placed the envelope in my inner coat pocket. I would deliver this important document to Magnus before he does something truly reckless which may start something that may destroy us all.
