Everything's Ready

The next morning, Ms. Hayak said goodbye to Eulalia.

“Eula, my daughter has an emergency, so I need to go back for two days. I'll be back soon to keep you company,” she said, feeling reluctant to leave Eulalia alone. But her daughter had called her urgently.

Eulalia seemed unsurprised, her expression gentle. “Ms. Hayak, can I give you a hug?”

Ms. Hayak quickly put down her luggage and leaned over to hug Eulalia’s frail body.

Eulalia held her tightly, soaking up the warmth and feeling a brief sense of maternal love.

“Safe travels.”

The room had a large floor-to-ceiling window, perfect for Eulalia to watch the outside world. She sat there, watching Ms. Hayak leave with her luggage, gradually shrinking to a small dot before disappearing completely.

Tomorrow was Percival and Evadne’s engagement party. Percival had to go to the hotel tonight to prepare and get familiar with the schedule, creating a tense atmosphere.
