Chapter 4

This new hope had Asrar grinning. He could feel his Angel, she was now close to him. His mark on her skin would allow this. Once she was changed she will Mark him and she will feel him. He poured his love into the bond. Rosalie felt it, she felt all of it though she couldn’t explain it. To her it was like that moment they hugged after confessing there love for each other. If she could smile she would have.

“Alright so this flight is not going to be easy. Grandma always talked about her being in Resnic.” Chris spoke with a heavy sigh as he walked into there room. Asrar had a small suitcase packed. It had his essentials. If he needed anything else he would just buy it.

“Cant be that hard.” Asrar spoke as he came over and looked at the map. Chris sighed as he pointed out where they where and where they had to go.

“it’s a multi hour flight. If we make it to the ocean today we camp. Then it will be at least a day flight over the ocean. Then another part day flight to the city.” Chris told him. Asrar's face dropped. He wished it was only going to be a day but by the way it looks it wasn’t going to be. He feared going now. He didn’t want to be away from Rosalie that long.

“We have to go.” Asrar told him trying to build his courage up. Yes it was long but he needed to do this. He had to save his princess. “We have 3 month and that’s it. The sooner we find her however the better.”

“Well let’s leave first thing in the morning. We will swing by the hospital before going.” Chris told him as he rolled up the map and went to leave the room.

“We are going to find her there right?” Asrar spoke feeling unsure for the first time.

“We are going to find her Asrar. If there is one thing I know about my cousin it’s being away from the city would kill her. Asrar nodded as Chris disappeared. He hoped he was right. Look how much Rosalie had changed in the few years she could have to. He had to keep his hope up. They both had to or this trip will be for nothing. His princess needed them to find this gem.

Asrar looked around his room and sighed. It hadnt changed a day since she left. He made sure to keep it just the way it was. It helped her smell was here though it was now faded. He still didn’t have the heart to change it. He kept everything clean so that she wouldn’t have to do anything but rest when she woke. He opened the drawer of the bedside table and retrieved her cell phone. It still had a picture of her and his dragon side. It was a favorite of his. She looked so healthy and was so happy.

“Unl.” Derek’s little voice called as he tried to open the door Chris had shut. Asrar just smiled as he put the phone back in the door and walked over to the door. He gently jiggled the handle as if he was trying to open it.

“Derek I think I’m stuck.” Asrar spoke gently holding back his laughter. “The door wont budge.”

“Derek you leave your uncle alone. You need to be in bed.” Avalon’s voice called. She was having tea in the kitchen when they had entered. She was worried about Rosalie but Ryan had to make a quick trip to town. She had to wait for him to return before going to sleep. Nightmares plagued her mind when he wasn’t close.

“Mommy coming.” Derek giggled. Asrar quickly opened the door and pulled Derek in. Avalon giggled to herself as she witnesses what happened. If there was one thing her son has not made her life boring. She just wished Rosalie was here to witness it. She had done so much for them and all they could do was wait.

“Asrar.” She spoke gently before she entered the room. She looked around to see that none of them where there. She smirked to herself as she walked over and sat on the bed. She knew they where under it as it was the only place she couldn’t look. “When are you leaving?”

“Unl no leave. We hid.” Derek spoke from under the bed. Asrar just chuckled knowing they had been found. He never knew where to hid, didn’t help he didn’t want to hid in a good spot and freak poor Avalon out.

“In the morning.” He spoke causing Derek to look at him.

“No leave, Anny Ose need you.” Derek spoke as tears formed in his eyes. “Baby ne you.”

“Derek I have to go.” Asrar tried but that had nothing on the little boy. Derek raced out from under his bed and ran. Avalon watched him go  with a sigh as Asrar slowly pulled himself out. He sat beside Avalon on the bed and draped an arm round her shoulder.

“I promise to be back before my new niece or nephew enters this world. Just promise me you will take it Easy and not pop sooner.” Asrar spoke as he saw the tears start to form in her eyes.

“I know you have to go to save her. I know you will keep your promise to be here before the baby, but promise me something.” Avalon says as she faces him. He nodded as he places his hand on her cheek and clears the tears that have started to fall. “You come back alive.”

“Avalon.” Asrar chuckled. “I am coming home to start a family with my Angel just as you have.”

“Good because this little one and Derek deserve a nephew or nieces to play with.” Avalon giggled gently. Asrar pulled her in tight and held her like that. “I’m still fascinated.”

“By what?” Asrar asked. Avalon leaned away from the hug and looked at him with a smile.

“I had always dreamed of a brother and now I have gotten one.” Avalon chuckled causing Asrar to joined hwe. “I had to go through being an assistant to get it.”

“Don’t forget the heart break of thinking we would bed each other if you worked hard enough.” Asrar chuckled. She nodded though she was secretly glad they never did.

“Don’t remind me. I was actually going to quit that day.” Avalon confessed.

“Really?” Asrar looked at her confused.

“I saw the twinkle of love in your eyes and knew with your past you probably needed a women’s help. I decided I would stay and help you.” Avalon spoke. Asrar just smiled. “I played the sister well didn’t I.”

“The moment you said sister I was ready to make you my real sister. I knew your background and all the hell you went through Avalon. I may have been this hard ass at the time but your story pulled out the nice strings. You worked hard and you took my shit like it was nothing.” Asrar smiled. “I new you loved me and wanted to experience everything the others had. I didn’t want to lose you though. I needed you more then the others.”

“They told me you where hard on them but I didn’t think you where that bad actually. I’ve had worse then you.” Avalon chuckled. “All worked out well for both of us.”

“Well mine isn’t ideal yet but we will get there.” Asrar smiled at her and she nodded. Asrar held her close once more before he let her go and stood. “Now I have to go find my Nephew.”

“Good luck.” Avalon just smiled. Asrar chuckled as he walked out to find the little 2 and a half year old. He didn’t know how he was going to do it but he had to convince him. He loved Asrar like a second father and he loved his Aunt even though he never really got to meet her. He felt the love she had for him. He felt if his uncle left he would lose his aunt. She was holding on for him, she was fighting for him. Though he was so small he understood all of this. He didn’t want to lose any of them.

He hid himself under his parents bed and cried hoping it was a night mare that if he woke up no one was leaving. He loved each and everyone of them. He didn’t want to be away from any of them for any length of time. A day was fine for him but any longer and he would be upset. Curling up he tried to cry himself to sleep.

Asrar opened Avalons room and heard his sniffles. He knew right away this was not going to be an easy one. He hated watching him cry just as much as he hated Rosalie crying. Walking over to the bed he bent down and spotted his nephew curled up. Asrar offered his hand but Derek slapped it away. Asrar just sighed as he squeezed under the bed and put himself closer to Derek.

“Unl no. Unle bad.” Derek cried.

“Derek, I have to go. I have to go to save Aunty.” Asrar tried.

“No no no. Anny ne you hear. Anny fih or you.” Derek cried. Asrar pulled him close and held him tight. Derek let him.

“Aunty is fighting for us Derek. She wants to meet you. But Derek I have to go get something for her. She needs this item so she can keep fighting.” Asrar spoke not really sure if he was listening.

“Anny ne elp?” Derek asked looking up at Asrar. Asrar just nodded as he cleaned off the boys puffy face. Derek looked at Asrar chest before looking back at him. He was thinking. “You go elp Anny.”

“Yes I have to go to get something that will help Aunty.” Asrar nodded with a gentle smile.

“You go, I get oy and anny oy. Then ome ack.” Derek said as he cleared his eyes. Asrar chucked lightly as he held Derek once again.

“Aunty needs the toy to get better. Why does Derek need a toy?” Asrar asked with a giggle.

“You may baby rye.” Derek said without even skipping a heart beat. Asrar loved how he always refers himself as baby. He couldn’t quite say Derek and they had tried to get him to say I or me. He was stubborn and said he was baby. They knew once his baby brother or sister came he would get out of it.

“Alright Derek. I promise to bring you a toy.” Asrar smiled as he began to pull then out from under the bed.

“Ruk, boo.” Derek said as Asrar lifted him from the floor once they where out. “neen, no boo.”

“I see someone has demands.” Avalon chuckled as she watched them from the door.

“Yep, got a Blue Truck on order or green if no blue.” Asrar chuckled as Derek nodded. He placed his head back on Asrars chest as they walked out to the living room. Avalon sat beside them on the couch as Asrar rocked Derek to sleep.

“Your not going alone are you?” Avalon asked.

“No Chris will be going with me.” Asrar spoke. “hopefully that room will be complete by the time we return.”

“The builders are sure taking there time.” Avalon agreed. Asrar hired some apprentices to build so they had to build it on weekends but with finals and such in between they where slacking. “I’ll get Ryan to burn a fire under there ass.”

“I bet you will.” Asrar chuckled.

“Take Ben.” Avalon spoke up after a moment or two of silence.

“I cant Avalon, he needs to be here with Brandon. With me gone anyone that wants to attack will have free range. We need all the dragon power here.” Asrar sighed knowing she would want him to be protected. “A dragon can fight to the death for there mate and are more dangerous then inmates dragons. With Mary and you around Rosalie your mates will fight just as strong as I would. Ben would be a good one in the mix to give that extra hand being as I am not there. You have Brandon’s Brothers as well as Rosco will not be going.”

“I don’t like this. Your only taking the two of you.” Avalon gently cried. Asrar placed a hand on her shoulder and gently squeezed.

“I am going to find the other half of the gem. I have a feeling if she is anything like Rosalie she will be a fierce fighter. I will be safe. Rosalie and her where tight. I’m sure she would do anything to keep me safe once she knows I am her other half.” Asrar tried to reassure her. “Plus Chris has become a fierce fighter.”

“I know Asrar I just cant lose you. I lose you I lose Rosalie.” Avalon spoke as the tears started to pour again. At this moment was when Ryan came through with a box in his hands. He instantly raced it over to the table before he held his wife. His heart dying as she cried in his arms. “These stupid hormones.”

“Its okay love. Everything is okay.” Ryan gently cooed to her as Asrar rose and got the door. He locked it before walking Derek to his crib in there room. Avalon told Ryan everything that was happening and when Asrar got back to them Ryan had his own two sense to put in.

“You are the dragon King Asrar and all your taking is a human.” Ryan nearly growled. Asrar stayed quiet, he knew this was probably going to happen. “You will be taking one of us dragons with you. I don’t care whom but one of us will go.”

“Do you want you queen to suffer?” Asrar asked gently.

“No.” Ryan snarled.

“What will happen if I take one of you with me?” Asrar spoke still trying to hold his anger back. Rosalie had taught him this even if she didn’t know. “If I take one of you it’s one less to protect your queen whom is in more need of protect then I.”

“I don’t like this.” Ryan snarled yet again. Avalon placed her hands on his chest to try and comfort t him.

“None of us do. I don’t like it but I don’t have a choice.” Asrar sighed. “She needs the other half of the gem. My mark will….”

“You marked her.” Avalon screamed. Asrar smacked his forehead with his palm. She stomped over to him and began to hit his chest. Asrar grunted gently every time she did to make it seem like she was actually hitting him hard enough. Ryan wanted to stop her but knew it was futile to do.

“I had no choice Avalon. I was going to lose her.” Asrar finally spoke when she finished pounding on him. He wrapped his arms around her and held her tight before pulling her to the couch. Ryan had run for some water to which he helped her drink. “It was the only way to save her.”

“But she is so weak and fragile.” Avalon cried gently.

“I know Avalon and if I could hold it off I would. I have to find this gem, I have to bring it back for her.” Asrar sighed. “I can feel her though. I can feel our bond and I know she slightly feels it to. She will feel my love and adoration for her no matter where I am.”

“But she will feel your pain and anguish to.” Ryan gently spoke. Asrar shook his head. There was no way he was going to let those emotions come to play.

“You leave tomorrow morning?” Avalon sighed as Ryan put the water on the table and then sat behind her. She leaned back on him getting comfy. Asrar lifter her feet to his lap and began to message them for her.

“Yes, and to answer you Ryan, I am not taking anyone but Chris because I fear with me leaving those that have been hiding will want to attack. They will want to take my queen from me.” Asrar spoke.

“Who better to protect her then two mated dragons and one that has been training since he was born.” Ryan finished for him. Asrar nodded with a smile finally glad they understand him. “Do us a favor before you go. Record yourself singing, that way we can play them for her till you get back.”

“I can do that.” Asrar smiled happily as he already had a fee he wanted to and he knew a few that where her favorites. He also wanted to sing a few of the new ones he knew she would like. They sat like this for half hour before Avalon fell asleep. Ryan lifted her to bed where he tucked her in and kissed her forehead. He then went out and helped Asrar record a bunch of songs before they went to sleep. Asrar knew Rosco and Peggy’s husband would be with Rosalie tonight. He would head over first thing in the morning.

“How is she?” Peggy asked as she walked in with her jacket and bag. Rosco was sitting there just thinking everything over. Peggy gave him the letters Asrar had given her. He read them and knew Asrar did the right thing.

“Sleeping peacefully.” Rosco spoke with a smile.

“Good, we have to keep a close eye on her while she transitions. Most mates are close when the transitions happen so if anything bad happens they can help. We are going to have to be her mate if they do.” Peggy sighed. “She has been doing so well through I don’t think we have two worry.”

“When will she wake?” Rosco asked as he looked back at her. She was looking plenty better. Color had finally started to come back. She was still supper skinny but that was a minor thing. They will fatten her up once as she wakes.

“Hard to say. Guess really depends on what they get back with the gem.” Peggy spoke with a hand on his shoulder. “I am heading out for the night. I will be back early morning. My husband is on her rotation tonight so I’m sure he will be in to check on her.”

“Thank you for everything Peggy.” Rosco said happily looking at her walking away.

“Grandma Dorothy gave me everything and helped me get back on my feet in my time of need. If I can be her to help he Granddaughter then that is what I will do.” Peggy said stopping at the door and looking there way. “I am honored to be able to help her.”

“You hear that Rosalie. We are all here fighting for you so don’t you quit on us.” Rosco smiled happily as Peggy left. Rosalie felt it for the first time. She felt them all fighting for her which helped her fight stronger. She wanted to be there she wanted to hold them all and tell them to stop crying for her. She just had to keep fighting.

Asrar showed up early morning and relieved Rosco for a little while. Told him to go be with Chris till they left. Asrar laid beside his Angel as Peggy, who just made it onto shift again, helped get him in. He hummed to her non stop till Chris poked his head in.

“The sun is about to rise. We should get in the air before it goes up anymore.” Chris spoke gently. Asrar sighed but nodded. He kissed Rosalie’s cheek before he slowly got up. Chris helped him so nothing got unplugged.

“No, you give her a proper good bye.” Peggy said grabbing Asrar's ear. He was leaving the room as she was walking it. Carefully she unhooked the stuff around Rosalie’s face. Asrar wasted no time as his lips found hers and passionately kissed her. He felt her move as tears came to his eyes. It was a slight move but it was good enough for him. When he broke the kiss he moved his lips to her ear. Peggy quickly got her hooked up.

“I will find her Rosalie and when I do she will come and save you.” Asrar whispered to her. “Hold out for me baby. Hold out till I return.”

“Let’s get going.” Chris sighed as he grabbed Asrar’s bag and flung it over his back. His own bag was around his front. Asrar nodded as he took one last look at his girl before they moved out.

‘I will fight for you till the end of time.’ Rosalie thought to herself.
