The blast of magic knocked them all out. Brandon was barely moving as he tried to breath the pain away. Drezic was trying to move to Rosalie who managed to lift her head ever so slightly off the moist soil. It was proving difficult with her wounds but she tried to rise. She had to finish them. Asrar wasn’t here, so as his mate, the queen of all dragons and humans, she had to protect them.

“You are all pathetic.” Narleen laughed as Charles came up and wrapped around her. He was so impressed with the power of his mate he couldn’t believe he would even think of anyone else. Narleen smiled as she melted into his arms. She used up every ounce of magic she had in that last attack. Her being close to her mate was giving her some of it back but not a lot. “Just like that mate of yours.”
