Chapter 3

Asrar froze as he looked at the envelope. Little Derek on his lap looking between the envelope and him. The black ink shaped perfectly that only a fine hand writer could write. It was in old text causing him to know it was not from there Grandma. Whom ever this was knew of Rosalie but also knew she would have a dragon mate.

When they managed to get the book open everyone learned a very big secret. One that had been kept out of history though it was huge. Asrar was blown away when he found out. The human that stole the gem was none other then the mate to the king of dragons at the time. She ran with the gem to try and keep her family safe. The gem did not fall into human hands like they had told all the dragons, the humans over powered them because of there brains. They managed to make contraptions and weapons that where stronger then dragons.

The mate took the gem because other humans where closing in and there was a rat amongst the dragons. It was her last effort to save the dragons, one even her mate knew had to be done. They where separated and not because they wanted to be but because a wedge was forced through. She ran as hard as she could trying to keep not only herself safe but the child within her. A child that was even kept from her mate. Well the humans found her and unfortunately she did lose her life. Her child however survived and kept the blood line going. She found a human and fell in love.

The human that took the gem had learned how to use it and when she died she forced the gem into her child’s body. It was said no matter how many births it would be. The gem would die with the child and be born with the next. Many of the children prior died only after there first child and it was going to stay like that till the child could find there mate. A silver dragon with the power of all four elements would change the life of the gem child. Asrar was that silver dragon and his presence is what woke the dragons gem power in Rosalie.

“Open it.” Derek spoke gently flopping his heads towards the envelope before they fell in his lap. When Asrar didn’t move he did it once again. This caused Asrar to smiled and plant a kiss on the top of the young boys head. Asrar didn’t know what he would do without him. So small and yet so knowledgeable. He hoped his children would be much like him.

“It might have information that will help Rosalie.” Chris spoke gently as hope slowly slipped back in. He had been praying hard something would come up, that some information would show them how to helped her. He was lost without his princess, the only thing keeping him going was his Rosco and the hard core training all of them have been doing. Ben was a big help in this for Ryan and Asrar. He paired with Brandon and taught the two how to fight efficiently in dragon form. Chris and Rosco where there human trainers and in all sense it has helped even them get stronger. Asrar wanted to be ready for anything. His girl was going to come back to him and he was never going to let anything happen to her.

“Asrar.” Peggy screamed from the doorway. Asrar instantly rose, Derek being pulled to his chest. He saw Peggy’s face and knew it was something wrong with Rosalie. He held the child safely in his arms as the four of them raced up the stairs. Peggy however was left behind as the power of the other three pushed them forward faster. Bursting through the door Avalon was crying as she looked through the large window.

“Avalon.” Ryan called managing to pick up speed and racing to her. His death grip soothed her as she cried into his arms. She knew she wouldn’t be able to help but she prayed even a little bit if her presence helped. Asrar wasted no time as he raced into the room. The doctor use to him being there so they worked around him as he walked to the chair. He sat down hard as his hand reached for hers. Derek, whom was scared, also reached out his little hand to his Aunty. He had never seen her up close and wanted to touch her.

As his hand came in contact with Rosalie everything stopped. The world seemed to freeze. Asrar looked between the two as color gently slipped back into her face and the machines stopped screaming. Derek giggled happily as he removed his hand and reached for her. When Asrar didn’t do as he was trying to say his bug eyes looked up into his.

“Anne Osa ee.” His cute little voice just made Asrar tear. He lifted the boy so he could get on the bed but what surprised him the most was what he did next. Derek pulled Asrar with him motioning for him to lift Rosalie’s head. Asrar did so carefully before His arm was pulled underneath. “Eye down.”

“No Derek I cant.” Asrar spoke gently fearing this will harm Rosalie and the machines attached to her.

“Anny want.” Derek spoke starting to tear. Asrar panicked as he carefully did as he was told. If there was one thing that was worse then a hormonally pregnant Avalon then it was  a crying Derek. For a boy he sure had emotions like a women. When he cried the whole world shook and he never stopped until he got what he wanted. Boy did that little guy get his parents into a lot of trouble, specially Ryan.

“Okay, no crying.” Asrar spoke once he was comfy by his girl. Something he had wished to do for years but was to afraid.

“Unl Sin.” Derek smiled happily as he snuggled on the other side of his hand. Asrar froze. He hadnt been ably to sing since the day he saved her. He couldn’t bring himself to. With a sigh Asrar closed his eyes and the first song that came to mind was ‘Made For You.’ By Jake Owen. When he got halfway though he got choked up and couldn’t continue. “No I’ve up Unle. You do it.”

“Derek.” Asrar spoke gently as he looked at the boy. For the first time in the two and a half years he realized something. Those baby blue eyes and platinum blond hair showing him what is wrong. He realized he had let himself go. He had changed and he wasn’t the person Rosalie wanted. Tears spring to his eyes as he moved his lips to just by here ear and continued the song. He was hoping for a small glimmer of hope she was Alright and here it was. This little boy was that hope. He was alive and so was she. He was meant to fill the void till she can be back to him.

“Unl od inger.” Derek clapped happily. He realized the magic had warn off and everyone was looking at them. Rosalie wasn’t perfect but she didn’t look so bad. She was still sick looking and so fragile but she didn’t look like death anymore.

“Asrar.” Peggy spoke out of breath. “You truly where made for each other.”

“I’m sorry everyone.” Asrar spoke trying to get up. Peggy raced over and gently pushed him back down. She helped move the cords and everything that was on her so he could be more comfortable.

“I think you being here is what she needs right now.” Avalon spoke for Peggy as she came over. Ryan right beside her. He lifted Derek up whom was sleepy. The magic stored in him given back to her. He was happy and couldn’t wait for her to wake so he could be in her arms.

“Thank you guys. Thank you all for everything.” Asrar spoke as he kissed Rosalie’s head. For once he knew what he had to work on and that was getting back to being the man she had fallen for.

“We owe you both so much. If this is all we can do to make up for it then we will.” Ryan happily said as he rocked his son in his arms. “Come love it’s time for a nap.”

“I have to meet Rosco at the airport in two hours. My apartment is a mess and he will have a cow if he sees it.” Chris sighed with a smile. He passed over the envelope to Asrar free hand. He had dropped it on there mad dash to the room. “Let me know if you need anything.”

“I will.” Asrar smiled as everyone left the room. He kissed his girls head before he started humming ‘Forever After All' by Luke Combs. Though he didn’t know it Rosalie could hear him. She could hear his love through the songs. She missed him as his singing was the only way she could hear him. Her fight for life sparked once more as she heard him. She couldn’t give up again. He was fighting for her.

“Three years and she still is alive.” The fake brother snapped. He ran his fingers through his now black hair. Due to the fight three years ago he had to change his appearance. His once silver eyes now blue because he had to remove his contacts.

“Hasik, she isn’t living.” His buddy spoke as he was sharpening his blade. “Being hooked up to machines is not living.”

“What progress do we have Apollo?” Hasik snapped. Apollo looked over at him with a smirk. They had to get to her. The orb needing magic to open so they could bring the king back. He was trapped in the orb fending for himself. They had to bring him back, even though he wasn’t Hasik's father he felt much like it. Hasik was given the chance of being a prince many years ago when the kings youngest, Drezic, decided to leave the kingdom he made sure to have someone fill his shoes. Hasik just lost his family and was around the same age. He taught him all he needed and left. The king didn’t even know the difference other then Hasik was wanting to please him more.

“Just have to wait for them to disperse and then we will get in there.” Apollo snickered. “They got nothing on us. They are still just as weak as before.”

“Good, the sooner he is out the sooner we can get our work done.” Hasik smirked. He wanted the king back at any cost. He didn’t care how he got him back he just wanted him back. Then they would follow through and kill the dragon gem taking it for there own. Neither one knowing you kill the dragon gem it disappears. Neither one knew how strong there opposite got as they weakened due to inactivity.

“Come we need to get training again. I want to become better then I was.” Apollo said tossing him a sharpened spear. Hasik caught it and smirked. He was glad Apollo was here with him. The two have been close friends for years. Both of them able to reside in each other when the time was needed. “No one out beats me and gets away with it.”

“What if your brother gets in the way.” Hasik asked knowing once the two got going they wouldn’t be able to stop.

“He is a traitor. And traitors are executed.” Apollo growled as he jumped Hasik who was ready to go. They began to spar and see that they had a long way to go.

Asrar woke up startled. He had a bad dream which made him shake a little. Peggy saw him as she was in fixing a few things and adding a new bag to the drip. She placed a hand on his shoulder causing him to look up at her. She had a gentle smile on her face as she helped him get untangled from Rosalie. Asrar left to use the washroom leaving Peggy with her.

“Would you like to talk about it?” Peggy asked as he reentered. Asrar sighed gently but knew he should.

“It was a dream I lost her because I wasn’t quick enough.” Asrar spoke as he sat in the chair that was beside her. His fingers locking onto her hand as he lifted it to his lips. “I was running, even with the extra help of the elements but it wasn’t enough. I wasn’t enough.”

“Maybe it’s a sign. Maybe what’s in the envelope will help you.” Peggy spoke holding it out to him. Asrar didn’t really want to open it  everything he has opened since her coma started has been bad news. “The answer could be right here Asrar. Open the letter and read.”

“What happens if it’s bad news or something of no help.” Asrar said as he looked at it.

“None of us will know unless you open it.” Peggy gently spoke to him. He nodded as he took it and watched her leave to make her rounds to her other patients. Asrar looked at the envelope before his eyes fell back on his Angel. She looked better but it still wasn’t perfect. With a deep sigh he let her go to open the letter. She gave them Derek and Avalon, she gave him hope, so maybe this letter will be different then others. With carefully fingers he pulled the letter out. Placing the envelope on the bed he began to read:

To the Dragon Mate

I don’t know you and you don’t know me but I know what you are going through. That Angel in front of you means the world to you. I know my mate sure did to me as well. I lost her all because of this stupid gem and I hope you don’t see the same fate I do. Her life relies on that gem, if it is weakened or pulled from her some way she will die. You must find a way of bringing the energy back to the gem or returning it to her.

You are probably a dissident of mine and in such you will have royal blood in your system. Well so does she. Mark her child. Mark her and make her your forever. This will give you the ability to save her for longer. She gave you powers you can give her powers. If I am correct you will be born a spirit dragon and in order to posses your powers she had to open it. That being you will open hers. Mark her child, it will not wake her but it will give you the power to help her stay stronger longer. I didn’t and I lost my girl. I lost her to never see her again.

We where going to have a family in the future before all this hell broke. We wanted to make it large, with 5 or 6 children. We where going to keep peace between the humans and dragons with this gem. All of this was taken from me because of them. Because of those that where jealous. I pray you don’t lose your love. I pray you start your family.

Love

King Asrar

Asrar was shocked by what he saw. The king back then had his same name. He had his name. He didn’t know what to think. He didn’t know what to do. The king says mark her but she was already so fragile how could he. If he lost her he wouldn’t be able to live with himself. He read over the note once more before he looked at the envelope. There was another letter to which he quickly opened.

My Dear Asrar

If you are getting this letter it means I have passed on to the next. I promise my love we will meet again and when we do we will be together forever. I promise my love your gem is safe. It will be safe until we can fulfill our dreams. I love you so much words cant describe how much I do. My love, my world, my life. Please forgive me.

Our gem has been placed inside a gem that will carry it till we meet. Every time the host dies the gem will  e send to another. But when we meet you will be there to save us. Save us from death my lovely Asrar. Mark me, and then find the other half of the gem. Just like the host the gem will become stronger. Almost to strong to carry it in one person. Part of it will be split and given to a twin whom will carry it till its needed by the original host. This will be signified only when twins are born.

I love you my love. I hope you will find us soon so we once again can love watch other. So we can once again bring light to this hideous world. We will rule it together my love.

Your Forever Mate

Rosalie

Asrar took one look at Rosalie and nearly died. She was that twin, she was the girl who was to hold the gem. He was his when this all had started. Why couldn’t he have found her sooner. How many times had she been reborn to just die again. His heart pained as he looked in that envelope to see a small note. He read it and raced out to find Peggy.

“I have to mark her.” Asrar nearly screamed at her. Peggy paled but she nodded as they both raced to her room. With a deep breath he looked at Peggy before looking at Rosalie. Pulling his dragon to the surface his mouth opened and bit down on the name of Rosalie's neck. Holding his teeth there she began to squirm. Peggy held her down with the help of a nurse and doctor.

“Hold it till she stops.” Peggy spoke. Asrar was breaking as he felt her pain. He felt her tired ness but most of all he felt her power to survive. She wanted to come back for him. When she finally calmed down Peggy ran for a cloth and as Asrar moved his mouth she placed it on her neck for a few second. “Why the sudden rush?”

“This.” Asrar said passing the single not over.

Mark her or you lose her. Then find her sister. Last know location is Resnic. Protect my Granddaughters, they mean the world to me and this world.

                                                                                        Love Grandma

“Grandma Dorothy loved her children and grand children.” Peggy spoke with a sigh. “I take it as your going to be leaving us.”

“I have to do as the note says. The sooner I go the better. I got three months.” Asrar spoke as he gathered the letters and handed them to her.

“Three months? Asrar I think you have longer then that.” Peggy chuckled gently.

“You want to deal with a pissed off Avalon when I’m not here for the birth of her second child?” He smirked causing Peggy to go white. She had been on the receiving end of that night mare.

“Your not going alone.” A new voice spoke. Asrar looked up to see both Rosco and Chris at the door way. Asrar looked at them confused but realized what he was meaning.

“I cant….”

“There is no way you are doing this alone.” Rosco snapped as he looked at Asrar. “Your safety is top priority because if she wakes and your gone it will kill her. She has proved to be strong and if what your saying is true she will wake. You will take Chris with you.”

“I will be able to help locate Desiree.” Chris spoke though he didn’t want to leave his cousin he had to.

“She need….”

“She needs both her knights. He knows what she looks like and you can fly faster then a plane can take you. This fight is for both of you.” Rosco’s spoke stern. He needed Chris, he needed his support as they all still tried to cope with what was going on. But right now there pumpkin needed him more on this trip. “the sooner you go the faster you get back.”

“We will pack and leave.” Asrar spoke as he walked over and held Rosco tight. “I will protect him.”

“I will make sure she doesn’t slip away.” Rosco spoke gently as he held Asrar tight. They broke off and walked away. Rosco raced to Rosalie’s hand and held it tight. “Your knights are on it pumpkin. You knights are going to make this right.
