Chapter 2

His silver eyes fell upon her pale skin causing his heart to break even more. 3 years he has had to watch his mate slowly die in front of him and no one had answers. Her once beautiful tan skin was now whiter then snow. Her round cheeks and beautiful plump red lips now all flat and dull. She was loosing weight much to his dismay. Her whole body was becoming skin and bones as his punishment fell on her shoulders. He should have protected her, he should be the one in the bed not her. He has held this weight on his shoulders. Two years ago it was given and still it has not let up. If it wasn’t for the beeping of the machines beside her he would have thought her dead.

A growl rolled through his throat at the thought. She couldn’t leave him. She was his world, the only thing that had given him such hope for the future. Now he has to rely on there companions. But even they to are becoming more and more agitated. All off them giving it there all to find a solution and nothing is helping. Even he had gone through the book left by her Grandma to find nothing more to help. They all where loosing hope other then him. He had faith she would come back to him. If not he would end his life right then and there.

He sighed heavily knowing his Angel would kill him in heaven if he did that. The last words she spoke still fresh in his mind but he didn’t think he could go through with them. He would rather be alone then replace her. The everyone’s happiness he has not fallen back into his grumpy ways. He has stayed positive through this all, at least in front of them. Behind closed doors with his Angel he cries for her to get better. To wake up and hold him.

If you asked him where he wanted to be three years ago he would tell you: Married with a child coming. He imagined he would be here with a beautiful healthy mate, heavy in term and getting ready to push out his baby. She would be screaming how it was all his fault she was in pain and that she wanted the baby out. Her small hand crushing his as she tried to find relief from the pain. The beautiful engagement ring with its jackets on her left hand. He would have the memory of her in the beautiful white dress she had picked out. There friend and family surrounding them happily.

Everything came to a halt when Rosalie’s breathing stopped for a second to long. The machine kicked in getting her to breath properly again. Asrar let out the breath he was holding. He moved her hand carefully to his lips as the lingered there for a moment. He was trying to imagine they where her lips but nothing he did brought back those memories. All that was there where the horrible ones of he suffering.

He remembered the day like it was yesterday. Him waking up to see the life being drained from her. He beautiful smile, her intense eyes and her loving posture all being sucked out of her into the glass ball his father held. She was doing it for him and he knew it. They had the upper hand because of the dragon on him. What killed him the most was when the threw her from the cliff. His Angel who gave them everything they asked was being disposed off. He only just managed to save her from hitting g the water but that caused him to collide with it. When he got his body out she wasn’t moving or breathing causing the painful scream to race through him. He then raced her to the hospital where Peggy was waiting.

They where in the operation room for hours trying to figure out what to do but her body was hooked up to every machine to sustain it. They even pulled Asrar in to try and sing to her but he just couldn’t. It wasn’t until the beeping flat lined that he managed to pull music to his lips. It brought her back to life but it was only the start of there struggle. They have been fighting to keep her alive to which it was mostly machines now. Asrar didn’t know if he could pull through any longer. It wasn’t her living it was the machines.

“Asrar.” A gently women’s voice spoke from the door. It hurt her to see him in such pain, just as much as it was to see her looking the way she was. His silver eyes turned to see his six month pregnant assistant to whom has labeled sister. They are not related at all but he feels so close to her. She was his only rock in all of this. She was the one that was keeping him strong. It also helped her pregnant hormones where going crazy and if you didn’t do as she said she was scary.

“Avalon.” Asrar spoke as best he could trying to stay together. The stress on Avalon already was more then she should have in her current state. He had to be strong so she didn’t stress about him to. Her first baby a miracle they both survived. Now this pregnancy they had to be super careful.

“Chris thinks he may have found something.” Avalon spoke gently as she walked over. Asrar lit up, for the first time since the incident someone has a piece of hope. Avalon’s frown gently turned up but it wasn’t anything big. It wasn’t much to go on and even then it was risky. “He is in the cafeteria.”

“Stay with her Avalon I’ll be right back.” Asrar cried happily as he went racing down. Avalon slid into the chair he was on and grabbed her hand. Something she had been doing for the last three years she had been here. She moved the hand to her stomach. Rosalie missed her first baby and wedding she didn’t know if she could bare to watch her miss this one to.

The wedding took place as planned and everything was just perfect other then she wasn’t there. Avalon's wedding was perfect and she smiled happily as they got married. Rosalie had picked everything perfectly and made sure the planner had the best description. Avalon was happy she was there because she knew her wedding wouldn’t look as good if she hadnt. But that made it all that much harder. Ryan second her pain as Asrar tried to keep them happy. His threat was always ‘Rosalie planed this day to be special for you. Smile and be happy so you can tell her and show pictures when she wakes.’ They would never argue after that and did have a good time.

They had prayed she would wake when her son was born. There was no such luck as the two prayed Avalon would make it. It was a miracle, one they knew Rosalie had to have helped with even in her state. She had to have helped somehow as there was no explanation on how they did. Asrar, Ryan and Peggy all knew it had to be Rosalie though the doctors claimed it to be a miracle from god. They didn’t push it however and let them believe. The baby boy looked like the pair and was Absolutely beautiful. Little small at 4 pound 9 ounces but they loved him all the same. Ryan claimed Avalon after 7 months. He wanted to make sure his son didn’t need her breast milk incase she was out for a length if time.

Avalon slept for 6 months before she woke. But to there amazement she woke up with a dragon as well. Ryan was so thrilled and happy. She however was so mad at him. She lot 6 months with her son. Well that led to poor Ryan being hounded on till he promised her another baby. The only catch was she had to learn how to contain her dragon so she didn’t hurt them. Avalon never hurt her child. She was so careful when holding him. It took her 6 month to perfect and by the 7th they had word she was pregnant again.

“Keep fighting Rosalie. Please don’t give up on us yet. Your niece or nephew needs there aunty.” Avalon spoke as the tears began to fall again. Her hormones kicking in causing her to sniffle. “Man, pregnancy hormones are the worst.”

Asrar was racing down the stairs. They where on the fifth floor of the hospital. With her not waking the hospital has her in intensive care just incase something did happen. He was so happy with the potential news of hope he was to impatient to wait for the elevator. He needed to know what they found. He needed to know if it was something that would wake his green eyed angel.

Opening the door at the bottom of the stairs a two year old came running into him. Asrar was taken back as the poor boy was thrown back. Asrar was quick to move as he stepped forward and with some air he managed to scoop the boy into his arms before doing a touch and roll. This caused him to end up in his back with the little boy happily clapping in his stomach.

“Again Unle Ar.” He happily sang. Asrar just laughed as he slowly got up. The boy being held to his chest as he walked to the cafeteria. Ryan was looking under at less and around corners causing Asrar to just stop and lean up against the wall. He looked at the young boy who giggled as he scrunched his next down so his shoulders where raised. His left hands fingers where between his teeth and he gave a big toothy grin. Asrar chuckled at just how cute he was.

“Derek did you run away from Daddy again?” Asrar asked gently. The little boy giggled as he shook his head. “Are you sure?”

“Yes.” He said as he dropped his hands to his lap, his shoulders came down and he frowned as he said it. “Daddy bad.”

“What is daddy bad?” Asrar asked trying to hold back the chuckle.

“Daddy lost baby.” He spoke as he crossed his arms over his chest and shook his head. “Bad Daddy.”

“Oh Derek.” Asrar laughed so hard caused everyone to look there way. Most of the nurses and Doctors knew this small group by now. With them being there everyday it was hard not to. Peggy and her husband where always head nurses for Rosalie and only a few doctors where aloud to come close to her. This Asrar implemented. Apollo and his fake brother where still out there. They guys though they got them but they snuck away. Ben, who apologies tremendously to Asrar, said he will keep an eye out for them with Brandon who both do shifts of patrol.

Since Rosalie has been in the coma the dragons have halted there entrance into the city. This gave some relief to Asrar but nothing would put him at ease till his Angel was awake and healthy. They all wouldn’t sleep peacefully till she was awake. Chris and Rosco had to move into the mobile to which they took up the living room as Asrar built the third bedroom at the end of the hall. They had kept working as all of them have but made sure to stay tight and everyone knew everyone’s moves. Avalon and Asrar stayed at the hospital the most. Ryan, Derek, Mary and Isabella where here as long as they could be. Rosco, Chris, Brent, Brandon and Ben all came and went due to work. Ryan and Asrar took turns cooking so they could be here. Mama Chika was trying to find replacements for them but coming up short.

“So that is where you ran off to.” Ryan spoke as he came up to them. Everyone finally going back to what they had been doing.

“I no un.” Derek exclaimed. “Daddy No ollo.”

“He says daddy lost him.” Asrar chuckled causing Ryan to laugh with them.

“This little man will get me in so much trouble on day. Then none of us will be laughing.” Ryan said as he tried to take Derek from Asrar.

“No daddy.” Derek spoke dropping his head to Asrar’s chest. Asrar just smiled and told him it was okay. This actually helped comfort him. He wasn’t to sure why but he never questioned it. In reality it was because a part of his girl was attached to the boy. Rosalie was weekend again because she was there to save her sister and nephew. It cost her more then she knew but she couldn’t lose them. This was causing her to spiral down because her body was putting out more magic then she could bring in.

“Where is Chris?” Asrar asked dropping his cheek to the top of the boys head.

“He is over here.” Ryan sighed as they walked to a table Chris was sitting at twiddling his thumbs. He was trying to figure out what to do. He knew Asrar was coming down but he had to give hope to Avalon. She was stressed and looking depressed. This, he knew was not good on the baby. He had to tell them something good even though he knew nothing. Asrar spotted him as his heart broke. He knew that look, it was the look of disappointment.

“Thank you, she needed that boost.” Asrar spoke as he sat down heavy on the chair across from Chris. Well that chair was not taking any of it and collapsed. The legs just breaking under him causing him to be on the floor.

“ah oh.” Derek said as he leaned up. He was sitting on Asrar’s stomach. When he began to fall he cradled the boy close son he wouldn’t be hurt. “Unle faw.”

“Yes uncle fell.” Asrar spoke chuckling at the little boy. Derek raised his hands up so his palms pointed to the ceiling and was at shoulder height. His head was going back and forward. This caused Chris and Ryan to join in.

“I might not have good new but I do have this.” Chris sighed gently. “It came from a cleaner at the coast resort you stayed at. She apologizes it took so long to return. Due to health issues or something.”

“Well what does it say?” Asrar asked as he lifted them to another chair. This time he sat carefully in it causing Derek to clap happily. He was happy it didn’t send his uncle flying again.

“Its addressed to you.” Chris spoke handing the envelope over to Asrar. He took it with careful fingers as his eyes read over the name on the envelope. ‘To Rosalie's Dragon Mate.’
