Chapter 3

Chap 3

RYLAN'S POV

"Here's the banana cue, eat it," I said to the children who were begging and sitting on the side of the road.

I really thought Dylan would eat all the banana cues he bought from Grandma. I can't help but remember our conversation earlier.

"Can you really eat all that, Dyan? That's a lot," I asked him as we walked away.

"Of course I can't eat it all, so let's take four, two for each of us, then we'll give the rest away," he answered happily and still laughing.

Dylan is really amazing, first of all he is kind because he saved me earlier and even gave me a job and now he is giving food to the children we see begging here.

"Brother, thank you," said a boy, bringing me back to my trance.

"Don't thank me, thank him," I said as I pointed at Dylan, because he was the one who actually bought the food.

In my beliefs and impression are the same as others when it comes to the rich peoples. I thought of them as full of their selves and arrogant, but when I met Dylan I knew I was wrong.

There was joy in my heart as I watched him talk to the children. He was wearing such a beautiful smile that in those moments I wanted to believe he was an angel.

After our little feeding program for the children. Now we are walking back to his car, the banana cue in my hand is also gone.

It was so nice to help, it felt so good while I still remember the happy smiles on the children's lips earlier.

"This is my resume." At the same time, I handed him the document he was asking for.

Dylan and I are now in his office at home. His house is really amazing, it's so big and beautiful. This is a large house with two floors, very clean and the floor is very shiny, it can be glazed because the tiles are shiny.

As soon as we entered, I couldn't believe it because I only see houses like this in picture books.

"Your birth certificate?"

I quickly gave him what he asked for.

"Alright, it's okay," he nodded as he read the papers in his hand. I smiled because of what he said.

'Thank God I got the job!'

"Wait, one more thing," he added, making my smile disappear. 'Because he said earlier that it was all done.'

"Do your parents have a cell phone, there's no number on your resume?" he said while pointing to the paper. 'I forgot to write it there.'

"Mom has it, this is her number." I handed him my old cellphone, the model is still 3310.

"I'll just call to confirm."

I nodded as I watched him quickly tap his expensive cell phone.

Answer later on the other line. "Hi, good afternoon, I'm Dylan Von Hendricks, Rylan's employer, I just want to know if this number he gave is correct."

"Yes, his job is house keeping."

"Yes, he's okay, don't worry, he's not in harm's way."

"Thank you very much," he said after hanging up the phone. I'm just waiting for what he has to say next.

"Now I will tell you my rules and regulations here at home," he said with a smile.

I smiled because that meant I was hired by him. I also sat down properly after hearing what he said.

"First, you can't let anyone into the house especially when I'm not here, is that clear?"

I nodded in response. 'Dylan is also scary when taken seriously, but I can understand his behavior because he probably wants me to take his instructions seriously.'

"Secondly, you can't leave the house if it is not your day off."

I thought... 'What if there's a fire, I still won't go out?'

"I know you have a question Rylan, it's obvious from your face," he said smirking.

"When there's a fire --" but before I could finish what I had to say, he preceded me.

"Of course you have to go out when something like that happens, but if it's for small reasons like shopping at the store. Don't think about it because there's a lot of food here at home. If you're bored, there's a TV here, after you're done with your work you can sleep too," he explained long and clearly.

I just nodded again to him.

"And lastly, you cannot enter in my office without my permission. Is everything clear Rylan?"

"Yes sir, don't worry I won't let you down. I will do my work earnestly," I happily answered him.

"Don't call me sir. Just Dylan."

I just answered him with a nod. His rules here at home are easy.

"Do you want to talk about the day-off and your salary?" he asked again, giving me a wide smile.

After some time...

"Rylan, I'll just leave the t-shirt and shorts here on your bed," said Dylan outside the bathroom where I was taking a shower.

'Hey, it's nice to take a bath, I feel like I haven't washed my body in a year.'

When I left the room, I saw the clothes he was talking about. I applied it to my body and thought...

'It's the size of a dress.' The shorts are long and loose, but I was surprised to see a safety pin next to them.

After Dylan explained about my salary, day-off and work here, he first took me to my room. The room is big and clean, it has white paint on the wall, it has a single bed and also a cabinet. Include your own comfort room.

But no matter how many times I turn my eyes, why don't I see an electric fan around. I just shrugged my shoulders because maybe there really isn't anything like that in the room, who am I to complain. So, instead of thinking about that, I just continued to wear my shorts, but I also didn't expect the door to suddenly open.

"Rylan are you done---" he was cut off and suddenly stunned.

I looked at my appearance now. I don't have any clothes yet and I'm just wearing the shorts. When I looked in front of me, he was gone and I only heard the closing of the door and his apology.

I just hurried to put on my clothes because Im wondering if what he had to say was important. When I came out, I saw him leaning against the wall.

"Dylan, I'm done getting dressed," I said, he couldn't look at me straight, his face was also red.

'Is he okay? Maybe he has a fever, it's impossible for him to be drunk.' I thought about it while staring at him.

"Ehem, I was just going to teach you how to turn on the air conditioner in your room," he said while seeming to calm himself down.

I nodded as I followed him back to the room, because what he said didn't immediately sink into my brain.

Wait? It's air conditioning! So no electric fan. Wow i can't believe it.

I noticed that he was holding a remote control, but he was pointing on the white box attached to the wall. Then later I even felt the cold air.

After that we started a house tour. We went to his room on the second floor, it was a messy and it was obviously a busy person's room.

He also showed me where the guest room was. The same goes for the laudry room, kitchen, mini library and game room with a mini bar counter inside.

Now we are in the kitchen and operate various appliances in it, like rice cooker, oven, blender and so on. I'm happy because there are so many cooking utensils here. Maybe it's good to cook especially when I looked at the contents of his huge refrigerator. It's even higher than me.

"Wow!---" I opened the fridge.

"---there's a little food in her," I whispered dejectedly, still thinking it was full.

"I haven't gone grocery shopping much, I don't know how to cook. I drink coffee in the morning and eat fast food in the afternoon and snacks," he defended.

I was sad, because too much greasy food is bad for the body. It means that since then he only eats unhealthy foods.

"Let's go to the laundry room, I'll teach you how to use the washing machine." he said.

When we got there, he taught me how to turn on and use the washing machine, I was also surprised because he suddenly called me, maybe he thought of something.

"Rylan! Get all your dirty clothes out of the room. We'll try them in the washing machine here so you can learn faster."

I quickly followed him and he showed me how to do laundry using the washing machine. It's funny to think that Dylan lent me his own clothes because he knew all my clothes were dirty. 'Dylan is really thoughtful.'

After putting the washed clothes in the dryer, we left them to dry.

"Rylan can you cook dinner now?" he asked more when we went to his office.

"Sure, I'll cook."

"That's great, call me here at the office when you're done," he said with a smile.

When he entered the office, I quickly grabbed my chest, because of his smile that gives me a strange feeling. It seems like I'm running out of breath because of the speed of my beating heart.

'Mom, am I sick?'

And since I didn't ask him what dish he wanted, I thought of it myself. Fortunately, at least there are ingredients here in the fridge.

I do it piece by piece, mix and match until it's finally finished. Freshly cooked rice and mother's special adobo. After serving, I called Dylan.

He was already sitting while I was going back to the laundry room to get my clothes.

"Where are you going?" he asked in surprise.

"I'm going to take your clothes to the dyer."

"Do it later, take a plate and then sit here across from me."

"Are we going eat together?" I couldn't believe it.

"No, just watch me eat," he answered sarcastically so I gave him a bad look before taking a plate. 'Because he's very sarcastic.'

"We are the only people in the house and you don't even want to eat with me," he complained.

Well, I not informed that a maid can eat together with their boss.

"Wow, your cooking is delicious Rylan, this is the best adobo I've ever tasted," he praised my cooking.

I couldn't help but smile so I just hid it by eating rice.

The fool was smiling while eating, you'd think he hadn't eaten in a long time. He was obviously tasting the food before swallowing.

"It's really good," he whispered to himself.

At the first time I was so proud of my ability.

◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇

"Dylan!!!" I shouted from outside his office.

I finished washing the dishes and closed the windows and doors.

"Come in!"

"Dylan, I'm done with my work," I said when I peeked inside his office.

"Great, you can rest now."

"Thank you," I replied happily before closing the door.

When I entered my room, I dropped my body on the soft bed. While the word left in my mind..

'God, thank you for your grace... Mom, Dad, I have a job. '
