"She is beauty. She is grace. She is innocence in human flesh."

Alvaro wanted to take back all the words he said. The girl in front of him was not a slut at all, nor a bitch.

In fact, she was the exact opposite.

She was so innocent and so little.

Even now, as he slowly stood up, he can see the innocence beaming from her. Her mouth agape, and her eyes wide.

She was a cute little darling.

And he knew that the other three in the room thought the same. They were all staring at her, eyes amused.

She provided innocent entertainment to the people around her.

'No doubt' he thought 'she was adored in her little town.'

The Mayor, who was beside Genevieve, and the man she thought was Alvaro Dominguez, shifted his eyes to him.

The entertainment slowly faded, replaced with fear.

He may be the Mayor of a large City, but that didn't mean he had the courage to face Alvaro Dominguez.

He wasn't as powerful as him. Alvaro Dominguez could buy the city if he wanted to, after all.

He stared at the Mayor, waiting for him to do what he should.

Their conversation earlier went with the Mayor shaking and Alvaro glaring. Did this dumb fuck even know what he should do?

They had a scheduled appointment, and it was the Mayor himself who was causing the delay.

He was wasting the glaring man's time.

"Do it now." Alvaro's voice sounded in the room. The eyes that were previously on Genevieve's was now on him.

The girl was still staring at him openly.

With Alvaro's command, the shivering Mayor immediately got the papers, readied his pen and presented it to the two people in front of him.

Alvaro was now the one standing next to Genevieve.

She was still staring.

Alvaro quickly grabbed the pen from the Mayor's hand and signed away. He looked at the girl beside him, gently urging her to sign. He didn't want to give her the opportunity to back out now.

He didn't regret the decision to have her as his wife.

Genevieve blinked, staring at the black pen in his hands.

What was she going to sign? She noticed Mr. Alvaro- the real Mr. Alvaro, not reading anything but just signed the papers.

Should she do the same?

She did. She gently grabbed the pen from his gigantic hands and signed above her name. Was this paper some kind of contract?

Mr. Alvaro grabbed the papers and handed it to the Mayor.

Genevieve realized that the shivering man earlier was, in fact, the City Mayor.

And the seated man was Mr. Alvaro. The bully.

Was she wrong? She thought her husband was a scaredy-cat and needed her protection but turns out that the one who needed it was the Mayor.

She still remembered his teasing eyes and mischievous smirk from earlier. And the reaction of the Mayor towards him also made

Were the people in the town, right?

Was Mr. Alvaro really a bad man?
