Selling his card

Lucy come back to the University.

During the lunch, she went to the resteruant and pass though the hall.

The playboy guy tauntingly remarked, "Look, there's little Lucy, who's been chasing after Evan Clare!"

The other guy follows, "She's really persistent, isn't she?"

He turned to Evan Clare, "Evan, I told you that you don't need to go to the cafeteria yourself. This sister won't be absent, even for a day. But I wonder what delayed her today. She's ten minutes late!"

Evan Clare, who rarely raised his eyelids, took a rare glance and said in a calm tone, "Just ignore her."

He shrugged and said, "Too bad our Evan will never like her, and she should really take a look in the mirror to see what she's made of. I'm honestly fed up with her. If she still comes to pester today, I'll..."

Before he finish his sentence, the words "still comes to pester", Lucy already passed the group of people along the corridor.

She ran directly towards the dish desk.

From start to finish, it was as if she hadn't seen any of them.

...

The air fell silent for five seconds.

"What's wrong with her today? Evan Clare, didn't she see you?"

Evan Clare's gaze remained on the few pages of paper, and whether it was his friends imagination or not, the light and shadows from outside the window fell on Evan Clare's face, making his complexion appear a bit off.

But it was likely just his imagination because Evan Clare immediately smiled and looked up at Lucy. He said softly, "Wouldn't it be nice if she didn't come to bother us?"

This University has a total of twelve cafeterias, and this one by the lakeside is the best. It's just as good as a Michelin-starred restaurant, but of course, it comes with a higher price.

In the original story, Lucy's family was plain, and she rarely visited this expensive cafeteria.

However, since she started pursuing ClareEvan, She live her life like a knight, with endless courage and determination.

After learning by chance that ClareEvan had a stomach, she come to this cafeteria with sparkling eyes every day to pack ClareEvan's favorite food. Regardless of whether ClareEvan was in the laboratory or the student union, she would bravely deliver the food to him, braving any weather conditions.

At this University, and even among girls from other universities in the city,Evan earns lots of fans, but few girls did what she have done.Specifically, Lucy was the only one showing her love with such unwavering determination, like someone who had hit a wall but refused to give up, full of youthful energy and fearlessness.

When Lucy was going through the novel, it felt excruciating because there was a lot of hard work to do. It was like watching a 72-episode drama of pursuing her husband. Comparatively, even her pollen allergy reactions with Andrew seemed more bearable.

Doing the hard work was one thing, but the most challenging part was watching the delicious food she had bought for ClareEvan being ridiculed and thrown into the trash can by the people around him. The aroma of the savory braised pork belly was tantalizing, she couldn't even take a single bite, making her heartbreaken.

At that time, Lucy's mind could be summed up as: "Leave it for me, Otherwise, I've gone insane."

But now, she isnot the actor in the novel. She could finally enjoy her meal herself, without sharing it to others.

When she bite the steak with delicous sources, she never feel that good.

She looks elegant and attractive, but her speed at eating was so fast.

The boys was busy picking at his food with his chopsticks, almost reaching into the plate on the other side. His attention was entirely focused on Lucy.

He stared at Lucy as if he couldn't believe it. But then he realized something: "This girl seems to be learning the art of playing hard to get! Quite the entertainer."

The other boy played with his phone and said, "The little girl is quite creative. While she might failed herself, after all, even if she tries to put on a show, our Evan won't like her."

He asks Evan, "Evan, what do you think?"

ClareEvan glanced at the two of them, seeming indifferent, and said, "Boring."

Lucy, having enjoyed her meal, began to slow down her pace. She took out her phone and checked her messages.

After some thought, she replied to her father's message: "Dad, Isn't your birthday coming up? I'll definitely come back in advance."

Her father was an ordinary high school teacher, a bit old-fashioned, but he had given doubled love to his children. In all the worlds she had experienced, he was the best father. Lucy remembered that in the later part of the original story, there was a plot where Lucy had finally gained the courage to leave Andrew. However, at that time, her father was diagnosed with lung cancer and required a large sum of money for treatment. Lucy had to return to Andrew to ask for his help to save her father. She wanted to buy a villa so that her father, who had toiled for most of his life, could enjoy his retirement and have timely medical checkups.

She had a class in the afternoon, so Lucy went to the campus service center to get a new SIM card. Carrying her textbooks, she attended a general math class.

She chose a seat in the back and took out Lucy's phone. She inserted the new SIM card and sent a text message to her father. Her father was delighted and gave her a few more reminders, similar to what he had just told Lucy.

Lucy couldn't help but smile, and as Lucy, she exchanged a few words with her father.

Just after class, there was a commotion outside. A girl burst into the classroom, excited about some gossip. She said, "A beauty girl in the campus met another girl. Guess what happened?"

Lucy looked up and recognized the girl as Sunny, who was in the same department as her.

Someone behind her asked excitedly, "What happened? These two have always been at odds, so why did their conflict suddenly escalate?"

Lucy was scribbling some calculations on her paper, thinking about why it happened. It was undoubtedly because of Evan.

In any book, there were always characters making the story complex. In this novel she entered, Evan was the most fancy male, there were probably even more female characters interested in him.

The student shrugged and explaine the little conflicts, "It's all because of the upcoming dance next weekend. The beutiful girl inquired around but couldn't find out who got ClareEvan's dance card. She suspects that it's probably with the other girl."

Lucy suddenly realize what will happen.

The dance card for next weekend.

She had just returned to this novel, and she almost forgot about this plot.

The dance next weekend was organized by the department. People with matching dance cards would wear masks and dance together. In the past, ClareEvan never participated in such events, but this year he was elected as the student council president, so he had no choice but to attend.

It was easy to imagine the frenzy among female students at this University.

However, no one knew that the one who had drawn the same number as Clare Evan last week was Lucy.

Being the female leader, it was her responsibility to drive the plot forward.

Sunny, who was sitting behind her, suddenly noticed Lucy was also present. Sunny was quite uncomfortable with the fact that Lucy's family had a financial situation. Lucy's beauty was hidden behind plain clothes, making her appear ordinary. Her affection for ClareEvan was also embarrassing. Someone like Clare Evan would never look at her.

Knowing what they think, Lucy left the classroom with her textbooks, opened her phone, and logged into the school forum.

She had just registered a new account and posted a message: "Accidentally drew ClareEvan's dance card, available for a low price, contact me if interested."

Then, she simply turned off her phone.

She had just thrown this hot potato out there.

Lucy happily planned to go out for skewers after her class. Living a life where she could eat and drink without being bound by the plot felt incredibly blissful.

Meanwhile, on the campus playground, a basketball whizzed past the green area. A boy wiped the sweat off his forehead and sat down on a recliner.

At the same time, many female students around him started to get excited and talked on their phones. He couldn't make out what they were saying.

In a hurry, he called  over and said, "Someone actually drew ClareEvan's dance card and is reselling it. Could it be one of our buddies?"

"Evan is so good-looking; even if it's a guy, they probably wouldn't want to resell it, right?" Another boy said: "Who is this extraordinary person who remains unmoved by such a handsome man? I'll check the IP address."
