STRIKE WHEN THE IRON IS HOT

Immediately after Fred was pulled out of the ambulance on a stretcher, a group of nurses stood in front of David and Sylvia, denying them access inside the operating room.

“We need to carry out an emergency surgery on him. I'm sorry you guys will have to wait by the reception.” one of the male nurses said.

Sylvia wanted to break past the human barricades and run after Fred’s wheelchair but David grabbed her just before she could put her thoughts into action.

“Look at me!” David cried out with her face in his palms.

She looked up at him and her face glittered with hope because David was bearing hope in his eyes.

“Fred will be fine. Just trust me.”

She gave repeated nods and wrapped her arms around him, crying uncontrollably.

After Sylvia was a bit calm, she pulled away from David. He held her by the hand and began leading her toward the reception. When they reached the reception, he helped her get settled on one of the benches.
