CONSPIRACY

By the time Sylvia got to the kitchen, color had drained from her face.

“Are you okay?” demanded Luna right after Sylvia walked in, looking startled.

Sylvia realized that she had unconsciously made it to the kitchen. She lifted her head and gave repeated nods. “I’m good.”

“Why don’t you fix dessert? Master David asked for it. I’ll see what Shane is up to.” Luna replied and walked up to Sylvia. She gave her a slight tap on the shoulder with an approving nod and stepped out.

Poor girl! Luna thought. She must have not yet gotten over the loss of her dad.

Sylvia shifted to the counter and positioned her hands on the table. She began to take deep breaths.
