FALLING FOR THE ENEMY’S SON

"Come in!” Leonard responded from the inside.

Sylvia exhaled sharply before reaching for the doorknob. She opened the door and stepped into the chamber feeling quite nervous.

For the past two days, she had spent time with Leonard at the table. They had spoken about the future and other things and she was starting to grow comfortable around him and now, he had just summoned her to his room that morning.

When she got into his room, he invited her to sit on the sofa adjacent to his bed. While rubbing her palms against each other tenderly, Sylvia sat and cast her gaze to the floor.

Leonard cleared his throat loudly and threw his back against his chair.

“David told me everything.” he began. He then took a deep breath. “I'm sorry!”

Sylvia finally looked up at him.

“I'm sorry for lying to you. When the autopsy report came and it was revealed that Ben was strangled, I was lost.” Leonard said.
