“Did you just hear what Fred said?” Sylvia flung the question at David the moment they walked into his room. “We can't get married in ten days.”

David crashed by the edge of his bed with a sigh.

The restless Sylvia began to pace.

“Come and sit with me,” David told her.

She didn't. She kept pacing back and forth.

David stood up and grabbed her by the hand. He then led her to the bed.

“There’s a lot on our plate David. There’s June to deal with, there's Griffin, and now…

“Do you trust me?” David interrupted.

She turned to him. “You know I do.”

David swallowed and took charge of her hands. “There’s something you need to know.”

He was staring directly into her eyes. Sylvia felt a tingling in her eyeballs. “There’s something you need to know too.”

David sighed and then cleared his throat loudly. “I'll go first.”

Sylvia encouraged him with a nod.

“I met June recently.”

Her eyes widened in horror.

David didn't take his eyes off her. “I left home the other day because I couldn't bring myself
