Twenty Four

The door banging woke Kristen from her sleep. Her eyes shot open, immediately scanning the room. She sat up, turning to look at where it was coming from.

The knock came again and it dawned on her that it was coming from the main door.

"Who could that be that would not allow me to sleep?"

She wondered and closed her eyes.

"Lately, my door seemed to be knocked on more than it has been knocked on for the past five years"

She murmured and flipped over when the knock came again. She felt herself falling back asleep before she fell out of bed, landing flat on the floor. As if nothing happened, she got back onto her feet, stretching and yawning as she went back to her bed to sleep. The first time, she slept on it for ages.

The door banged for the fourth time, she decided she could not ignore it anymore.

She stood up and grabbed her night robe then walked out of her room half asleep.

"It could just be 7 in the morning"

She could not help saying.
