Chapter 38

Victoria POV:

It had been a month since mom and Tom’s wedding. She had finally come home from a month long honeymoon in Hawaii, happy as a clam and sporting a gorgeous tan that I was very jealous of. Seeing how giddy she was affirmed my approval of Tom. I had not seen this version of my mom in a long time.

We had talked a couple of times on facetime while she was away. Our conversations always seemed to be short because she always seemed to be rushing off from one activity to the next. I missed her but I loved that she was having the time of her life. One time during a video call, Tom came into the room with a flower for my mom and kissed her cheek which made her giggle.

My mom. Giggled. I acted like I was absolutely disgusted by the display of affection when the truth is I was jealous of what they had.
