Chapter 58: Transformation II

Asher and Freya came rushing into the cave.

"What's happening to her?" Freya asked, placing the back of her hand over Diana's forehead. She was burning with a fever. It was when she noticed the fur on her skin that she gasped.

"Is... Is she shifting?" She stammered.

"I think she is." Alden said, his eyes locked on Diana's face.

"Is it supposed to hurt this way?"

"No. Diana is different because she's a lycan's daughter." Axel quickly explained.

Freya's eyes widened with realization and she withdrew her hand sharply. "Goddess above, you have to chain her before her shifting completes."

"Where do you suggest we restrain her?" Asher asked worriedly.

"The forest." Freya grabbed her pouch and hurried after Alden. "The forest air will mask her scent. We can chain her to a tree so she won't lose control..."

"Stop saying that," Axel snapped. "She's not an animal." He clearly didn't like the fact that Freya kept using the word 'chain', like Diana was some wild animal.

"Axel, control yourself."
