ZANE’S POV

When I got the text message from Maggie telling us to meet in my study for us to discuss, I became anxious to the extent that I lost my appetite.

The look on Maeve’s face and the way she dropped her cutlery on her plate made me know she got the same message.

I reached out my hand on the table and gave her hand a reassuring squeeze because she looked more tense than I was.

“Everything is going to be alright. We are going to be okay. Hmm?” I said to her with a reassuring smile and she nervously smiled at me.

“Let’s not keep them waiting,” She said and stood up from her chair.

I followed suit and we headed for my study.

I had a feeling that something happened between Maeve and Patricia when I walked in on them this morning.

But I couldn't tell exactly what it was, because whatever happened between them or whatever is what they discussed, Maeve wasn’t thinking about it, hence making me not be able to get my answer from her thoughts.
