If I had done a good job? This was a real home again. There was a bookcase that had everything knocked over like someone had thrown it and it all fell to the floor. The chairs were overturned as if they didn't care at all, as if they hadn't even been in here any time. The kitchen cupboards were untouched, no one had moved yet, but the sofas, they were out of place and there was a huge broken vase in the dining room. I had to clean everything up and sweep up all the dirt on the floor. Liphe, well, he was pretending to clean the dirty window panes while he kept watch outside and saw the position of the other loners. Bad to pretend, but I did the same as I mopped where dirt had stuck to the porch. I looked around the side of the house and saw some loners talking, others were positioned farther back near the trees and some of them looked at me. I pretended disinterest and went back inside. None of them appeared to be armed, unless they had a revolver hidden in their belts.
