CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE - LIKE A SHADOW

Elija opened the cell door and placed her foot on the smooth cement before narrowing her eyes at me.

"Sorry I almost cut your finger off." I spoke too quickly and maybe it wasn't a good idea to remind him. He ran a hand over his wrists as he glared at me. His nails had already stopped bleeding and his wrists were clotting again.

"You did good." He said, before resting his hand on top of my right shoulder and walking out of there.

"Wait." I ran and got in front of him before I finished climbing the stairs. and close the curtains first." I finished upstairs still looking at him and opened the door. The house was quiet and blissfully empty.

I sniffed and walked to the back windows. I looked outside and ended up seeing a lone or two standing back near the trees. I closed the curtains and when I turned around I saw Elija heading into the kitchen. She walked calmly as if she weren't in danger of being shot in the back of the head. She still held the massive pliers in one
