I was so damn proud of Angel. She captured everyone’s attention while she explained the situation to the room as a whole. It was direct and laid out the risks when it came to fighting but also when it came to not fighting. All in all, the Río de Fuego pack was a threat that we could not overlook.

In the end, almost everyone signed up as fighters. Some were not fit to fight for whatever reason but still wanted to help out.

This whole mate situation was absolutely amazing to witness. There ended up being a total of thirty mate-bonds snapping into place. Twelve of them were from the Dane’s pack. Seven of those were within Nightshade. Three were with Shadow Falls, and two were with Dark Moon. Jaxon and Sansa were another one.

The rest were between our various packs. There were apparently quite a few who just turned eighteen because I knew some of them attended the academy together or visited the different packs during warrior rotations. Our packs often rotated warriors for a coup
