Seventy Nine.

Lilah

I stared into the grey eyes of my son. His gaze lingers on me as he falls asleep after his feed. I was certain he was already bigger. He just didn’t seem to fit in my arms the same way and yet he was only hours old.

“He won’t speak to me!” Colt snaps as he barges into my hospital room. His voice makes our son jump awake. Instantly he starts crying and Colt begins apologising. Latching my son back to my breast helps him drop off to sleep again.

“I assume you are talking about Linc?”

“She is a witch, Lilah. A fucking witch.”

“And?”

“She is bad news.”

“She saved your ass.”

He glares at me

“Yeah, I know. Linc told me what happened.”

“So he will speak to you but not his own King?”

“Maybe because you are being a dick about it.” I growl at him. “Daphne is unconscious in a bed down the hall. Her mate is worried sick about her. When I was cut open, when I was poisoned, did he ever stop you from seeing me.”
