He remembers? He actually remembered that day?
Letitia felt her blood rush to her head and retreated to the booth's corner seat. She had not left the house for two months out of fear of this man. Letitia had not seen him at her door for so long that she believed he didn't even recognise her at their first night, but the first thing she heard from him was a marriage proposal.
"Samuel, have you been kicked in the head by a donkey?" Letitia retorted indignantly, raising her voice.
Samuel recalled a stray cat he had picked up on the side of the road that had begun in a similar manner, hissing and huffing at him, with wariness, dread, and menace written all over its face...... However, it was only pretending to be cruel out of fear.
It was only when it retreated to what it considered a safe distance that the little guy would return to normal.
Samuel heaved a sigh before rising up, glaring condescendingly at Letitia, resuming his prior demeanour, and remarking with a smug grin, "Miss Letitia does not yet know? I am your first matched marriage prospect."
Huh? What kind of coincidence is that? How could she have been unaware?
"If Miss Letitia doesn't believe me, you can check your phone right now for the AO match result notification."
Letitia pulled out her phone to check, and in the pile of unread text messages, she did flip to the so-called notification. When she looked at the date, it turned out to be sent two days ago. So she was probably sleeping or doing something else at the time and didn't notice it.
The successful match, Alpha and Omega, needed to go to the Matching Marriage Authority on the seventh day to register. Those who matched before the age of 25 had a one-month inspection period. So if they were two strangers, they could use the month to get along well.
Letitia though was devastated by the match result as it was not quite what was expected. She tucked her phone back into her pocket and asked tentatively, "Just because of that?"
Samuel raised an eyebrow and he gave a "That's not enough?" look.
Letitia sighed with relief and tried to test him some more when she caught a glimpse of Lurina and her friends coming down from the dance floor.
Letitia stood up like a fighting hen: "So what if I regret this marriage with you? I can choose to decline after the inspection period."
Regardless of whether he remembered the night or not, their relationship was never going to progress to the point where they could marry. Just thinking about it made her feel queasy.
She was afraid that this guy was trying to get back at her in the name of marriage . But even if she became an omega she would still be the same Letitia.
Samuel smiled instead of being angry, as if he had suddenly turned delighted. His honey-like dimples and genuine smile made him appear less like a powerful Ruiz boss and more like a school-aged youth.
"What are you laughing at?" Letitia asked.
Samuel wanted to pet her head and tell her because you look so cute right now, but he couldn't because it would scare the timid cat.
"Nothing."
The upper class fellas approached them, sensing the unusual aura of the duo but feeling it in a regular way and not thinking anything more of it.
"I said I saw Samuel and you guys still don't believe me." Lurina said smugly to the man next to him, coming up to them and asking, "What's the matter? Big Boss Ruiz actually has time to come sit at the bar today?"
Samuel greeted them and gestured with his chin to a booth table not far away, "Keeping clients company, I have bussiness to do, you guys have fun."
There wasn't a single person in the circle who didn't know Samuel, and it certainly wasn't a good idea to see him just leave. The red-suited omega from earlier started to coax, "You were having a nice chat with Miss Letitia . Why are you leaving now that we're here."
Letitia glared at him, "Who had a good chat with him?"
Samuel smiled, "I'm here to say hello to my matched omega." With that he looked over at Letitia, "Don't forget to come along for marriage registration in a few days."
With that he waved his hand at the group and walked away, leaving a dumbfounded crowd of spectators. They just wondered what was wrong with their hearing?
"Fxxk! Really????Letitia just split into Omega and was matched with Samuel, what kind of fate is this!”
One man whispered, "What fate? Don't you know Letitia doesn't like him and probably can't get married?"
Lurina interjected, "Not only do they not like each other, they are almost enemies."
A side omega silently spoke up: "But if it were me, I'd be willing, such a quality alpha is hard to find. Do you know that the big boss of Ruiz Group has never been promiscuous. His personal life is very clean. He is so suitable for being a harbor when you tired of playing." It's like a contemporary version of the "honest man".
Letitia helplessly slapped the table and said, "Shut up please!"
/
Probably because of the match results, Letitia has been in the mood for the past few days and has resumed her habit of going out to the bar every day, forgetting all about registering for the matched marriage.
In fact, when it comes to bar-hopping, Lurina booked booths in nooks and crannies away from the crowd to cater for Letitia who is sensitive to smells, which took away one of the great pleasures of coming to a bar - seeing pretty girls and guys, but that's where Queen Letitia is!
Letitia, on the other hand, would occasionally do herself the honor of having a glass of fruit wine, but mostly slept in her booth.
She was too uncomfortable to sleep sitting down, so she simply shooed a few people away and half lay down in the three-person wide card seat.
"She might as well go home and sleep, the bed at home is at least a little more comfortable." Lurina wanted to persuade her not to come, but Letitia's personality was such that the more she wasn't allowed to come, the more she clocked in every day.
The people on the other side of the room laughed: "I didn't expect Letitia to be different from before after she differentiated."
"Do you think Letitia is possessed, why does she sleep every day?"
Lurina inquired quietly of the person speaking next to her.
The man's name was Max, a beta, his family was in the medical equipment business, so they forced him to study medicine.
Max shook his head and replied, "I don't know!"
Lurina frowned and raised his volume, "Didn't you study medicine?"
Max laughed out loud, "Do I look like a good student to you? Besides, I studied surgery, do you think everyone is as good as your alpha? You think everyone is as good as your alpha? You can run a private hospital and cure anything!"
Lurina choked, although he didn't think much of his own alpha, he had to be convinced when it came to being a doctor.
Lurina gulped, even though he didn't think much of his own alpha. But he was really admirable when it came to being a doctor.
Letitia woke up and opened her eyes in annoyance, "Can you guys just be little quiet?"
Only Miss Letitia would dare to ask for silence in a bar.
Lurina grimaced, picked up a plate of snacks and said in a throaty voice, "Yes, the Queen will have her meal."
Letitia gave her a blank look, got up, pinched a piece of beef jerky and threw it into her mouth, but before she could chew it twice, she spat it out with a "yuck".
"This jerky is out of date, isn't it?" As soon as she spoke, the taste of beef jerky hit her head, and Letitia couldn't help but clutch the bin and dry heave.
"Huh? How can it be expired, is it that bad?" Lurina was shocked, took a piece and ate it, no problem, it still tasted the same as before.
Max watched from the side and spoke up to tease, "I say Letitia, you're not pregnant, are you?"
Letitia's body stiffened and she glared angrily, and before he could finish his sentence, Lurina opened his mouth, "How is that possible? She's only just differentiated."
Max grinned playfully, "The youngest daughter of a well-known corporation has been genetically mutated by late differentiation and thus has the ability to reproduce herself! Well, the state will definitely protect you as a treasured animal."
Lurina also followed suit and laughed, it did look like that when he thought about it, but when he thought about it, he knew it was impossible. She had only been differentiated for two months, after differentiation she was bored at home every day like a little daughter-in-law, there was no chance of hooking up with an alpha any more.
Letitia's heart thumped, then she grabbed a handful of peanuts and threw them at the two of them, "Cut the crap."
Having decided she was a beta, she hadn't listened to the part of the physiology class about omega and alpha, and had long since lost track of what the professor was talking about in class. With her sister being an alpha again, and no young omega around to refer to.She couldn't think what was wrong with her, and when reminded by Max, suddenly realised that something seemed wrong with the situation.
Because of the low fertility rate, the country of Cortas had opened up the system of forced marriage matches and naturally would not allow abortions, what if she did get pregnant ...... she vividly remembered the night when damn Samuel had formed a knot in her uterus.
Letitia was in a complete panic and was distracted until the party broke up. She walked forward out of the bar with her head down, ready to find a place to get checked out, she knew that Lurina's alpha had opened a private hospital, the kind of place that had more privacy and was definitely better than a public hospital.
She immediately called Lurina, who had just left, and asked her to make an appointment with his alpha to do a check-up for herself tomorrow ,which had to be done by him personally. Lurina though puzzled by the request, readily agreed and made the appointment for the next day without any problems.
Letitia didn't sleep well all night, once the seeds of suspicion were planted she felt that nothing was right, she looked at her stomach as if she was looking at a beast, and fell asleep a little and woke up again. She spent the rest of the night struggling with this.
When she woke up the next day, she felt like she was floating, and in this state she didn't dare to drive herself.
This hospital was one of the more prestigious hospitals in high society circles. The alpha of the Lurina's family was named Arkell, who was ten years older than her and had ended a six-year marriage before being matched with Lurina. As to why she married this alpha in the first place, in her own words, she was deceived by his mature appearance!
Arkell was an experienced and qualified doctor who did not keep Letitia waiting for long for the results.
"At 8 weeks' gestation, the foetus is slightly underdeveloped and it is recommended that your alpha partner spend more time with you."
Since hearing these words, Letitia's head went blank and she couldn't even remember how she got out of the hospital.
It wasn't until the sun was blindingly bright that Letitia came to her senses as if she were in a different world. The lab slip in her hand so blindingly bright that she clutched it tightly in her palm.
Her mind was as crumpled and jumbled as this mass of labs.
Her life had only just begun, a little unlucky, a little late in differentiating, but not without solutions. She slowly placed her hand on her stomach and stared at the slab of stone in front of the hospital.
After a while she finally made up her mind and decided that she would find the opportunity to abort the still unformed life form in her belly!
The thing was only about the size of a coin now anyway, and she didn't have much affection for it yet. But she couldn't let the thing drag her life down.
Letitia paced back and forth in front of the hospital, going through an internal struggle.
Arkell's words echoed in his ears again, "I can keep your secret, but I'm very sorry that abortions are not available here either."
The regular hospital wouldn't do it, she could find a black clinic, but ...... she seemed to have heard that it hurt to have that procedure done, she was most afraid of pain, what could she do? Can she have general anesthesia?
But is there a good anaesthetist in a black clinic?
Letitia took a few steps back to apologise, but she tripped over a paving stone and was caught at the waist by the man in time.
Letitia subconsciously apologised, "I'm sorry." Only when the words left her mouth did she realise it was Samuel.
"It's okay, Miss Letitia, but be careful where you walk next time."
Samuel was dressed in casual clothes today and his hair was unstyled, making him look a bit juvenile.
Letitia panicked for a moment, hiding her test results behind her back and pushing the man away with a wrinkled brow, "Get away from me! You're a trouble maker."
If it wasn't for him, why would she be in this situation? Maybe she would have managed to differentiated into alpha. Where she would be now, with that thing in her belly, not only unable to get rid of it fair and square, but even having to spend the expedition with the culprit.
Samuel didn't care about her vicious words, but noticed her movements and asked, "What's wrong with you? Sick?"
Sick? She'd like to think it was sick, but unfortunately it wasn't.
She was annoyed and irritated, and remembering that all this sleepiness, lethargy and acidity and vomiting was because of this man in front of her, she shivered with anger and lifted her foot and stomped on Samuel's trainers, "Mind your own business!"
Samuel could have dodged, but didn't.
He knew that Letitia was angry about the other night, so he just let her have her way, pretending that it hurt when she stepped on him and cursing that she had stepped too hard.
Letitia felt better and tucked her arm to leave, when a female voice came from the hospital entrance.
"Samuel, what are you doing? Gotta get in line to register."
A tall, slender woman came into view, her features bright and beautiful, a big, shining beauty.
Letitia was annoyed again, why should this guy have a beautiful woman at his side and suffer this? Why should she have to take this kind of punishment?
Samuel smiled "smugly" at Letitia: "How about that's my cousin? Isn't she beautiful?"
"None of my business!" Letitia glared at him in anger and turned her head to leave again when Samuel grabbed her wrist.
"Remember to register your marriage match together tomorrow so you don't hold me up for future matches."
If a matched result was not registered when it was due, it would directly affect later matches and the inspection period would be cut short.
Letitia drew her hand back, didn't say anything, glared at him and walked away.
Samuel looked at Letitia's distant back and then at the hospital doors, wrinkling his brow as he dialed his assistant's number.
"Hey, Ben, find out what Letitia came in for today and what the test results were."
He hung up the phone and changed the aggravated look he had in front of Letitia when he had just been "limped". He strode towards the hospital.
Samuel was waiting for her at the registration center's entrance when she arrived. She noticed Samuel's valiant form, his spirits high, and his eyes bright when she looked up.Samuel saw her arriving and rushed over to hold her arm."Excuse me, Mr Samuel, Please don't block my path." Letitia grumbled angrily."You look so pale, are you not well?" Samuel asked, not moving out of the way, but coming a little closer.Being so close, Letitia smelt the faint scent of cedar coming from him and her body unconsciously moved closer and the discomfort lessened. The physiological dependence made her otherwise raw tone sound a little awkward: "No need for Mr Samuel to worry about my condition, I'm perfectly fine." Having said that, she forced herself to take a step back.Samuel gave a laugh, the cedar scent a little stronger, more soothing.Instead of speaking, he looked at her with an intense and passionate look, as if he were looking at some exotic animal.Letitia touched her face suspiciously:
Letitia didn't want the baby, she was still too young to have developed the capacity to be an omega mother, let alone to raise a child to adulthood. It was difficult to find a black clinic in the city of Morz, because the country's crackdown on abortion was so strong that a while back there had even been a mass march of Alpha's in the city to protest against the government for allowing Omega abortions. It was only through Lurina's contacts that she had found a studio that could do that kind of procedure. But it was something she didn't want anyone to know about, she didn't want anyone to find out about her relationship with Samuel, let alone her parents finding out about her pregnancy.Plus it was a sensitive time for the regime, and if it was discovered that the youngest daughter of the Rayas family had even had a private abortion, then there was a good chance that her own family group would be implicated.Today Letitia mysteriously informs Lurina that she has something important to
Letitia was having a hard time explaining what was going on, and she was sitting in the room of the villa Samuel had bought for her all a bit self-loathing.Nothing had confused her so much since she had known she was pregnant. But , how could there be a wedding so soon? She had wanted to spend this time in peace and quiet, but she hadn't thought she would not be able to avoid her fate. She heaved a sigh in the lounge of the wedding venue. It was as if her destiny was going to be fixed at this moment from today onwards. She was wearing her wedding dress and was about to lie down on the sofa. The door to the lounge was opened by a group of people. It was the styling team for the wedding. The wedding process was really tedious, and her special health condition made her more easily tired and sleepy than normal. She had been groggy all day, like a puppet on a string, doing whatever the stylist told her to do. The make-up, the dressing, the detailing of the process consumed a total of four
Letitia threw up all the food she had eaten at breakfast. Before ten o'clock Letitia's stomach was rumbling with hunger but she was too lazy to ask the strange servants here to help prepare the meal, so she simply stopped eating and tried to forget hunger...But being hungry during pregnancy can affect the fluctuation of hormone levels. Her mood followed, and when she settled down she saw that nothing in the house looked right.Especially when she saw the white ribbons fluttering on the balcony and the [Congratulations your marriage] decorations on the wall, she felt as if it was a reminder that her life had been turned upside down. She was no longer alone and even with a child with someone she didn't really like."Can these white decorative silks be removed immediately now." She was sitting on the sofa with some funny variety show playing on the TV, and the person who was watching it was not at all happy, frowning at the colourful balloons that were decorated in the living room for
Samuel has changed his nature and treats Letitia so well that she feels goosebumps and seriously suspects that he is possessed by a ghost.Even when it was dinner time, Samuel would gently rub Letitia's hair and ask her if she wanted to be carried downstairs for dinner.Naturally, Letitia could not accept such a caring behavior. She repeatedly refused Samuel's concernUntil he smiled a third time and asked her if she needed an extra layer of blankets.Letitia couldn't take it anymore, so she took the opportunity to go out and get some fresh air with Lurina and the others. It's just another chance to follow Lurina and a group of friends inside the Club to chill out."Letitia Rayas, you just got married and you have time to hang out? Don't you have to be gentle with Samuel at home? I've heard that Alpha's endocrine system fluctuates a lot when they get married. What, your Samuel hasn't come into heat yet? You are still so leisurely." One of them asked.Letitia looked less than friendly
Letitia ran out and leaned her back against the door of the master bedroom for a moment before moving to the guest room.It was too late in the evening to ask someone to clean the other rooms, so Letitia went straight to the guest room where Samuel had been staying. The room was neatly tidied up and there was a slightly wilted bouquet of freesias on the bed, Letitia went over and touched the pale white petals before sitting down on the bed.The fragrant scent of cedar was not much, if any but unmistakably dependable, and Letitia lay back on the bed with a sigh.Due to the gender-specific nature of omega and alpha, an omega would only become dependent on the alpha that marked her until the mark was washed away. But unlike alpha, being at the top of the pyramid, they could mark multiple omegas and not become dependent on any of them, or even be able to find out that the omega had been thoroughly marked only at the point of intimate contact. She had been so thoroughly marked by Samuel
Letitia's thick clothes were stripped down to a thin nightgown by Samuel.Samuel wrapped her in two more thick quilts so that she could be wiped down at any time. She didn't sleep too well, occasionally waking up as Samuel tossed her around, looking bewildered as a young child, lifting her arms and legs as he instructed, much like a good baby."Good Letitia, lift your arm." Samuel obviously liked the way she was behaving.Letitia lifted her arm obediently, her dark eyes moistened by her illness. Her skin was fair and delicate, slightly flushed from the warm towel, like an unripe peach, and Samuel couldn't resist taking her arm and kissing it.As if he had been ordered by his master not to eat until she gave permission, Samuel restrained himself just brushing his lips against her skin.Samuel couldn't help but look up at Letitia's voice who let out a soft gasp. It was too much for her to bear the pain of her illness. Her arms were losing all strength from the pain of the fever.Letitia
Letitia flees once more, unable to face Samuel's passionate confession on her love. The contradiction between the stirrings of her first love as a young girl and her deep-seated resistance to his feelings leaves her breathless. She felt a wave of panic inside her, even fearing that she might lose her territory if she was not careful. It had taken her so long to hold herself back from shedding tears when she looked at him; it had taken her so long to resist caring about he playing with the other girls closely. Her crush was bitter and unspeakable, sour like rubbing the tip of her heart with a peeled lemon. She fled home, telling her mother that she wanted to go home for a few days to avoid her worry, and faced her family's other enquiries in a perfunctory manner, in fact because she didn't even know how to explain.Because her thoughts were in such a tangled mess.Samuel came to her door almost every day, but without fail, he was turned away. The heat of the bathroom misted the mirror
