Chapter 20: The Agreement

"What makes you think I'm not, Kenzie Wright?" The question took Kenzie aback. 

'Was he serious? Love? This early? Was that the reason for his sudden marriage proposal?' A big part of her was not ready to find out whether it was true that she brushed it off. She faked a chuckle and said, "Yeah, right, Andrew. That remains to be seen."

There was an awkward silence between them before Andrew returned, "In any case." He rose from his seat to hug Kenzie, lifting her from the sofa, and took a full turn. 

While Kenzie squeaked at being tossed around, Andrew declared, "You won't regret it, Kenzie."

Still dangling in the air, with her frame secured in Andrew's arms, Kenzie pursed her lips and replied, "I - I hope so Andrew. I want you to know, I'm risking a lot, to think I'm still mending."

"And I can promise you, I'll let you get through mending in a flash," he swore, smirking at the end of his statement.
