FORTY THREE

       Austin stared at his friend with a look of incredulity on his face. He knew Dominic was trying to help him. But, as much as he really wanted to save his own wife and unborn child, he certainly didn't want Dominic to get hurt or worse, killed. Especially not with Adelynn carrying his child.

"You can't just go to them. Dominic, we need backup" Austin said and Dominic gave him a blank stare.

"We can't bring the cops into this situation and I'm pretty sure you know why"

Austin's frown deepened.

"Listen to me, this is risky business. We don't know how armed Rielle's kidnapper is. What if something goes wrong and you get captured? What if it triggers the memory of your unpleasant experience?"

Dominic snorted.

"Did you actually think that I was going to put my life on the line to save Rielle? Definitely not. Of course, I have back up" he replied with a cocky smirk.

"Wow, you're still as cocky as ever" Austin said, looking irritat
