FORTY TWO

        Pensive, Dominic Suarez paced the length of his study as his bestfriend's words replayed themselves in his mind. "Jensen is my stepbrother?" He thought aloud, a frown on his face.

"My mother was once married to Jensen's dad?" He muttered, the frown on his face vanishing. He let out a sigh and rubbed a palm over his face.

"For goodness sake, I'm not dumb. That is so ridiculous" he said and lowered himself onto his chair. He didn't need a soothsayer to tell him that everything Austin had said concerning his parentage was bullshit.

     He tapped his fingers against the surface of his desk, a thoughtful expression on his face. He knew Austin. He wouldn't say such a thing ordinarily. Had he been blackmailed or something? He thought about the possibility that Austin had tried to deceive him for Rielle's sake. For truth to be told, Dominic wasn't upset. It had taken him a long time to understand w
