TWENTY SIX
Adelynn closed her eyes as her husband began to stroke her hair. A wave of sadness washed over her in such a manner that made tears fill her eyes and roll down her cheeks. "I'm sorry" she choked out and he sighed.
"Don't be" he whispered, still holding her in his embrace.For a while, they remained in each other's arms, neither of them ready to let go of the other. Soon, Adelynn's eyes were heavy lidded as a result of her exhaustion. She was soon falling asleep in her husband's arms.Dominic gently scooped her in his arms and laid her down on the bed. He covered her with the blanket and carefully wiped away the tear stains on her cheeks with his thumbs.

"She's going to be fine. But, at the moment, she can't speak due to her neck injury" Dr Matt informed Dominic and his wife. Morning had finally come and the bright rays of the morning sun reflected in the large bedroom of Dominic and his wife. The couple lay on the king sized bed, an air of serenity resting on them. Adelynn awoke first, her sleepy gaze resting on her husband's handsome face. She slowly lowered her gaze, a small smile curving her lips at the remembrance of the series of events that had happened the previous night. Things had gotten really steamy and at this point, Adelynn felt completely sated. She reached out to touch her husband's face, not hesitating this time. Her fingers slowly sank into his hair, caressing the silky strands. Dominic opened his eyes, a charming smile on his lips."Morning" he rasped."Morning" "Last night really wasn't a dream, was it?" He whispered and she snorted."Do you want me to pinch you first?" She asked and he laughed. "That won't be necessary" he responded, pressing soft kisses to the curve of her neck.

Dominic awoke slowly in his office, a feeling of foreboding resting heavily on him. He couldn't place his finger on it, but he knew that something was terribly wrong. He rose to his feet, brushing his hair away from his face. But, just as he picked up his car keys, a wave of dizziness slammed into him. White hot pain attacked his stomach and he doubled over. With a groan, he sat down on his seat. Sweat slid down the sides of his face, panic quickly setting in. He let out another groan when he began to feel terribly nauseous, his limbs trembling hard. He reached out to pick up his phone to call for help but, the blinding pain that hit him next stopped him in his tracks. He fell to the ground, gasping for breath as a result of his discomfort. "I want you to move in with me" Jensen said, a small smile curving his lips. Adelynn smiled, trying not to show how much his statement had thrown her off balance. "Jensen, I don't think that's a good idea" she stated and he frowned."Why not?""I'm still married to Dominic" Adelynn pointed out and Jensen's eyes hardened. "Adelynn, I need to know that you truly want me. Moving in with me shouldn't be a big deal" he said and a lump lodged itself in Adelynn's throat. "Jensen, you have to understand that I can't do what you're asking of me, yet. But, we're certainly going to be together" she said and his gaze softened. He gently gave her hand a little squeeze. While they both walked out of the restaurant, Jensen suddenly pulled her into his arms and pressed a kiss to her lips. Adelynn forced out a smile, hoping that he wouldn't notice how hard she was trying to make things look real. He walked her to her car and watched her as she got in.
