On the Way to Duke Castle

A single-inch step in a pair of heels made a sharp sound as Rosetta made her way down the stone staircase on the castle’s front porch. It was now eleven in the morning and she neglected the duties that were piling up in the workroom.

 “Good morning, Lady Rosetta!”

The sound of a joyful call came from a young man standing next to the chariot, opening the door. The young man was wearing a black uniform with a white vest over his broad breasts and broad shoulders. A dark brown coat dangled from the side of his left shoulder.

“Good morning, Alden,” greet Rosetta with a smile to her guardian knights at the ready. She paused and stood in front of the knight.

“Your energy never runs out,” adds Rosetta.

Her eye beads noticed a dark blue hair sticking out against gravity on his head. Insensible, Rosetta wiped Alden’s hair. Fixing every strand for a little bit.

“La–Lady, what are you doing?” shrieked Alden freaking. The blush struck both cheeks, but he could neither refuse nor strike at the Lady’s hand.

“Not only is your head hard, but these hairs too.“ Rosetta quivering and then chuckles. “Why are this hair still stand in its position?”

“Just let it go,” said Alden. He cough to steady the irregular rhythm of the heart.

“Why are you blushing?” asked Rosetta, “If you sick, better get some rest today.”

Then, the Alden’s shaking head clumsily. “No! Alden Keith is always ready for duty!”

 Rosetta smiles then nod understand.

Then twenty-three-year-old knights with green eyes like emerald managed to behave himself as usual and extended his arms as he smiled. Showing him a pair of fangs.

 “Be careful,” said Alden.

 “Thanks.”

Rosetta gets on a horse carriage and sits on a padded bench with a red sofa pad. Followed by Flora who participated. For as Marquess's daughter, Rosetta never leaves without an escort.

“No need to rush, right, Lady? It took only an hour and a half to get to Castle Coldine,“ says Alden through the train window.

He was already on horseback and ready to take the Lady guard with three other knights.

“Thanks, Alden. But I’d be happier if I could get there half an hour faster,“ replied Rosetta.

“Well, It's okay of you in a big hurry.”

The master-level knight ordered the coachman to run the carriage while riding on his horse to remain in his position beside the carriage. He occasionally saw her Lady chatting casually with her maid.

On the way to the Duchy Riverdale area, it always creates a strange tingle in Alden’s stomach. But now his mind is diverted to the behavior of Rosetta that corrected his hair. Despite all the efforts, the strands of his hair remain upright.

The Alden smiles a bit. That’s why he didn’t want to comb his hair and just leave it like that.

The carriage driver complied with Rosetta’s command, arriving at Coldine Castle on the down of the Northern Mountains in just one hour.

The view from a two-acre yard and the towering white castle building became familiar to the Rosetta's eyes. All her life, Rosetta visits this place at least ten times a year. Showing up unannounced is not even a habit that can make people protest.

“Welcome, Lady Rosetta,” greeted the doorman of Coldine Castle, Rowson, bowing and receiving a nod from Rosetta.
