Terrible Dream (2)

“I was very worried about you, Rosetta,” says Lucas. Now stand beside the bed where Rosetta sat on.

Half an hour ago, the Marquess Grasswall castle was in a frenzy. Because after three days of sleep and a high fever, Rosetta did wake up. The doctor who called for just sighed relief, saying that Rosetta was as healthy as ever.

Then, ten minutes earlier, Lucas came. Visiting Marquess’s home with hard breath to visit his fiance. So now they’re both in the room.

“You needn’t bother coming,” Rosetta retorted. She wanted to turn the clock back to sleep, but when she saw someone who loved her, she pulled the plug.

Lucas sat on the edge of the bed. He looks in a dark-haired girl who now looked whiter than paper. Not a time or two Rosetta has ever woken up from the dead like this.

 “You had another nightmare?”

As a childhood friend who spent a lot of time together, Lucas also learned that Rosetta had an unknown disease. But when she was about to call the doctor, the doctor just said that she was fine.

Rosetta nodded. Remembering the worst nightmare she had. The truth is Rosetta’s not surprised by this incident. During the twenty years of her life, there are more than thirty conditions in which Rosetta sleeps more than two days and high fever, and what wakes up is a nightmare.

“What dream?” asked Lucas. His hands gently rubbed Rosetta’s head.

Being treated like this makes Rosetta's eyes watery. She bites her lips, looks at her lover with tears in her eyes, and stretches out her arms. Demanding a cuddle with her devotee.

Lucas granted it. So they both lay in bed. The head of Rosetta was on that golden boy’s arm. Lucas’s long fingers play the red hair to make Rosetta a little calmer.

“You’re coming to the debutante party.”

Rosetta says. Rubbing her nose against Lucas’s chest. The aroma of citrus and wood wafting from the Duke’s formal suit. Also, the beating sound of h heart is so gentle to hear. Being in Lucas’s arms has always been a fun moment for Rosetta.

Lucas pulled up the left arm that had been a Rosetta pillow and then used his elbow to rest while he lay on his side. He inched a little to get a good look at his lover’s face, but Rosetta's hand around her waist kept Lucas away.

“How did you know that I was there?“ asked Lucas, sounding surprised. But Rosetta was far more surprised.

“You want to go there?“ Rosetta answered with a strangled voice and the eyes roared in disbelief.

Lucas raised his eyebrow, nodding once. His hand rubs Rosetta’s hair again, saying, “My father has commissioned me to come to the debutante. So I have to do it anyway.”

“Don’t come,” said Rosetta as she shook Lucas’s hand. She bit her lip again until it felt numb, placing a pleading gaze.

“Why? You would not come there because your little sisters would debut?“ Lucas replied.

For a few years, he still can’t understand why Rosetta being strange after waking up from her long sleep.

For example a year ago, when Rosetta was about to celebrate the twentieth birthday. The brown-eyed girl had a fever for five days. When her eyes opened, the first thing she said was “I’ll take over the duties of the castle and postpone the wedding.”

Rosetta's mouth opened, but no sound came out. So she took a deep breath and looked directly into Lucas’s eyes.

“Cause ....”

The words hang in the air. How did Rosetta say if Lucas came, he’d meet the last princess and kiss her on the dance floor?

“Ca–Cause there must be some pretty young girls coming, right? I fear you are smitten by one of them,“ replied Rosetta later. Not lie too much on what she’s saying.

Lucas winked, and he laughed softly. His hands twisted her red hair and made it messy.

“It’s impossible. Now all I love is Rosetta Halstead, Marquess Grasswall's daughter, and my precious fiance,“ said Lucas.

Yet, Rosetta was dissatisfied with that answer, grumbling, and brooding. Lucas sighed briefly.

“Looks like you’re still tired, Rosetta.“ Lucas got out of bed, fixing the covers to cover half his lover’s body.

“I’ll be back tomorrow. Rest up, My Flower,” Lucas said, bowing down to give a warm kiss on Rosetta’s forehead.

“Lucas! Hang on!“ Rosetta shouted, but Lucas was already closing the bedroom door. As a result, Rosetta lies down again.

The girl looked at the mosquito net. Knocked out the haunting dream. This time too, Rosetta must try to prevent this scenario from happening in real life. Rosetta banged her head with a fist.

“Fucking dream,” she mumbled, “How long are you going to keep pestering me like this?”

From the time of birth, Marquess Grasswall's eldest daughter was able to saw a future dream which said being a blessing or a curse. Parts of the dream’s Rosetta’s event will occur within a week to a year.

One thing that makes the dream different from another is a long-dormant sleep and a high fever.

At first, Rosetta dreamt only pleasant insignificance. Like what she would get when she was four, what kind of dress she wore for the first time, and so on.

But at the age of seventeen, the dreams of foreboding began to turn monstrous.

A dream of how Lucas kissed the princess then seized Rosetta’s vision. That girl’s eyes welled up, shedding the big teardrops that had been held back so long.

Lucas Carleton, the twenty-four-year-old boy who Rosetta loved, was about to kiss another girl at the debutante party.

Lucas Carleton, who has a bright smile like the sun in the sky Duchy Riverdale, softly whispered the name of another girl who is no more beautiful than Rosetta.

Everything about Lucas must be possessed, Rosetta. That’s absolute. There is no doubt in her mind that the entire upper class knows this fact.

Rosetta's breathing became hard. The probability of that event was seventy-five percent. If Rosetta goes silent, she’ll end up becoming the sad girl of that dream.

That’s not good news. On the contrary, very bad. Of course, Rosetta can’t just let that go.

“I don’t know that princess, but I was able to persuade Lucas not to come to debutante even if it cost me my life!“ H decisive Rosetta in the heart. Her hands crumpled the surface of the blanket.

Rosetta nibbles nails, quick thinking. An idea crossed his head.

 “Flora!” called Rosetta.

There are still two weeks left before the debutante party is held at the palace in the Capital. During the time that Rosetta will do anything to prevent Lucas from attending the party.
