It had been days after Denise accepted her place as one of the royals. Her house arrest was lifted, and Jaxson was appointed officially as her main guard. She made sure the Queen discarded any possibility of him being punished for deserting the palace, and she had also gotten her word that Wyatt's pack would not be harmed henceforth. And so her worries of them being in danger dissipated, but at the same time, she knew she had only created leverage for them to use against her if she ever tried to leave.

Now that she was complying, she had been moved to a room on a higher floor, with Jaxson’s directly beside hers. Upon her request, no one approached her, not even maids and certainly not Kain. Food, clothes and every other necessity were carried in by Jaxson exclusively.
