It was Kile who had arrived to the scene and if he was there, Denise thought that could only mean Kain was somewhere around as well.

She could feel Steff tense behind her and her fingers loosened their hold on her shoulder. Denise used the chance to quickly spin around, ducking her head under her arm and pulling one foot off the ground, kneeing her in the gut.
