A date

Helen's POV

"Mummy, wake up. School starts soon!" Ethan yelled as he bounced atop the bed with excitement.

Damn it, I shouldn't have allowed Lucy to indulge him with ice cream cake last night.

Whenever Ethan ate sugar, he became overtly bubbly and energetic.

And currently, the time blinked 7:37 on the digital clock that rested on my nightstand.

"Allow mummy to sleep for one more hour," I grumbled, placing my spare pillow over my head. "it's not even right yet, and school starts by nine."

"I don't wanna be late, mummy," He argued.

I understood his glee because it was his first day back in school after two months, but I was still very sleepy.

He had thankfully stopped jumping on the bed, and was now lying beside me, with one small hand flung over my belly.

"You won't," I said.

"Mummy!" He whined again, and in frustration, I yanked myself up from the bed and threw him an exhausted look.

"Please let me sleep for just ten more minutes, Ethan." I muttered. "I don't wanna have a shitty day
