Chapter 31

Cyran-

We hadn’t been gone for long, but already I was starting to worry. Tendrils of terror curled in my stomach, enough to make me nauseous. Feeling that something was wrong, I took one hand off the wheel, while I reached in my pocket to grab my phone.

While glancing between the road and my phone, I noticed I had an unread message from Azura. After opening the message, I slammed my foot down on the brakes. The car came to a stop, with the scent of burnt rubber thick in the air.

“You drive!” I ordered Kellan as we quickly got out of the car to switch seats.

Kellan was in the driver’s seat shortly after I entered the car. Reading the message again, I checked the time it was sent. Eight minutes have passed. Cursing at myself for not taking my phone off silent before leaving the house, I clutched my phone tightly in my hand.

“Turn around, the girls are in danger.” I didn’t need to say more, because Kellan quickly put the car in gear, and in a matter of seconds, we headed back the way we
