CHAPTER 34

CASSANDRA

I bolted up from the bed when I noticed that the sun was already brightly shining in the sky, and I was alone. What time is it now? I grabbed my phone on the bedside table and gasped to see it was almost noon.

"Why does no one wake me up?" I thought, running inside the bathroom to take a quick bath. I wore blue jeans, a striped black and white shirt, and a black Converse. Then, I brushed my still-wet hair and let it air dry before running out of my room and down the stairs. When I reached downstairs, I found no one.

"Where are they? Did they leave me behind?" My heart deflated with the thought, but I shrieked in fright when someone poked my side.

Jenny laughed when she saw my frightened face, which earned me a glare, but she only giggled. I frowned when I saw she was only wearing a swimsuit.
