Chapter 25 - marriage arrangement

For three days Anastasia stayed in her room, she refused to leave it or talk to her father. Her heart was broken and she was missing Jake. But her father came to her room that night and said that Brook and Clint were coming to dinner to discuss the wedding and she had to be there, he wasn’t going to take no for an answer.

So that night she made sure to dress down, to make herself less attractive. Putting her hair up in a messy ponytail and wearing a pair of faded jeans and a sweatshirt. She could almost picture the look on all of their faces when she went down to dinner. Her father would be furious, he always expected her to look her best in front of company. She was right, she could hear it in his voice when he stood up and told her she was late for dinner.

“Sorry I’m late, I was napping and fell asleep.”

“It’s nice to see you again Anastasia,” Clint said, getting up to pull her chair out for her. He sat down next to her. “My brother Jack couldn’t make it but he sends his regards.”
