Chapter one hundred and sixty five

AMELIA’s POV…

I covered my mouth as I hid behind the rock, tears streaming down my cheeks. I was scared, to the core, but I had to keep silent. I had been injured, and it hurt a lot, but then, when I looked towards Alaric, my heart broke into a million more pieces.

He had taken so many blows for me and had even gotten hurt by a sword for me and sometimes, I wondered if just breaking a curse for him was worth all the trouble I put him through. Of course, it wasn’t, so why was he risking himself for me?

I stared at his back and it was bleeding and more tears streamed down my cheeks. I traced my hand on to the wound and he turned to me.

“I am sorry for all the trouble I put you through, Alaric.” I mouthed to him and he smirked as he turned back to be sure that we were in the clear.

We had been hiding around for what felt like forever and I didn’t know why those things kept coming for me. What did they want from me?

Thank goodness Lilly was fine. At least I didn’t have to worry about her
