CHAPTER 10
It's been a month since I began working at the infirmary and I've managed not to get caught. Lily has been transferred full time to the infirmary so I get to see her a lot. Kyros on the other hand has been extremely sweet and nice to me. But he didn't make me feel the way Thane did. He didn't make my heart flutter or beat wildly. I didn't feel sparks whenever we touched.
He took be to a clearing today with a small stream. We sat with our feet in the water throwing stones.
"Have you ever thought of having a mate?" I nodded.
"A couple of times. But I wouldn't be able to feel the bond until I'm bitten." I laughed bitterly. "I'm not sure my mate would even want me."
"Don't say that. You are a wonderful person." I smiled at him.

Who was Catalina? I looked at him in confusion as I answered."Who is Catalina?" he didn't answer as he dragged me out of the room. Servants in the hallway looked at us as he dragged me past them. Few eyes turned to us in interest. I shuffled nervously on my feet. I tried to tug my arm but he held on firmly."You're hurting me" I said lowly knowing he heard me. Two days had gone by since the challenge was issued. I hadn't left my room in those two days and nobody had come to check up on me. There was a dull ache in my abdomen today and I felt a bit feverish. The door lock clicked and the door was pushed open. I woke up feeling exhausted. There was a mild burning between my legs and if it wasn't quenched, it would turn into an inferno. I reached for Thane but his spot was empty. Training with Eridian had been going well. I learnt a few tricks from him but I was yet to beat him. His speed and strength gave him an edge over me.
