The stifling pheromone of Father hit me the minute I walked out of the bathroom, and he was standing over my mate, who remained unconscious on the bed. “What are you doing in my room?” I ground out, discarding the towel I was holding as I marched up to him.

He raised his head, then turned to look at me in silence. I watched for his next action but instead of answering me, he went back to peering down at my mate with a scowl on his face, and I moved, putting myself between him and the bed, instantly blocking his view of my mate. “You can’t just barge into my bedroom and invade my privacy.” I tried not to snap.

His eyes moved to mine, his lips twitching as his scowl deepened. The disdain on his face had my insides coiling with anger and my chest rumbled with a low, threatening growl. Whatever look he saw on my face had him taking a few steps backwards and I saw as a flicker of fear crossed his face.

“This is my house; I can go as I please wherever I want.” He muttered in his
