Chapter 7_The plan

It was 7pm when Alec dismissed his secretary and went down straight to his car.

He has some business to take care of, and that is, meeting at the warehouse with Leo, his closest surbodinate, to discuss the strategy for ambushing the nematodes.

Once in his car, he lit up a cigarette stick and took a long puff, while resting his arm on the car door.

He thought for a while. Aiden Brutus will have to forfeit his beta in return for the support they'd render him against the nematodes, but he is sure a greedy man like Aiden will do no such thing.

Right after Aiden Brutus left his office about 48 hours ago Alec put a call to a private post company and had them deliver the message to Aiden, which was the usual way he conveyed the conditions for his rare support to any alpha who seeks it.

At first, he thought Aiden would never agree to it, but surprisingly, he did, and of course with a hidden motive.

Right now, he has to get the crowd informed through Leo.

Quenching the stick in his hand on a mini ashtray, he started the car and sped off.

On getting there, he packed the car and alighted with his head bowed and hands deep inside his pocket

He approached the warehouse walking briskly, no one should see him out like this.

Reaching the entrance, he lifted the door up with a single swift push and slided in, letting go of it again.

As he had thought, Leo was already there standing with one hand on the waist and the other elbow relaxing on a stacked up box, he knew how Alec hates to be kept waiting.

"Long time no see, Alec"

They haven't met in three months, since the battle with Aiden's pack.

Alec grinned widely, as he came near and gave him a punch on his shoulder.

"Ouch" he said in pretentious pain.

Alec scoffed at this. More than anything, Leo reminded him of his brother, Lucas.

"Aiden wants a hand with the nematodes" he informed

"Not again!" exclaimed Leo.

He knew the nematodes are vicious creatures and could eat out a whole pack if they let their guard down.

Alec and the crowd came in contact with and fought them about a year ago.

"Those creatures are wild and uncultured, they don't fight with a rule, and they don't kill decently. You know how we were narrowly able to come out alive from their attack" Leo complained.

Alec pulled an old chair and sat down, rubbing his palms together before replying "This is going to be different. We do the attack, that's our biggest card in this game. We'd use what the nematodes knows best to do, against them- attack" Alec revealed.

Leo raised his brows. No sane wolf will dare to willingly face and fight with these creatures let alone attack them, but Alec was going to do both.

As much as he hated ever crossing path with them, he knew Alec was right.

He had almost forgotten that the one sitting before him is no ordinary wolf but a rogue alpha with the strength of a hundred werewolves put together.

He nodded at Alec's explanation but stopped abruptly.

"Did you just say Aiden? As in Aiden Brutus of the Creek pack?" he asked suddenly.

Alec smirked and nodded, a bit amused by Leo's present reaction.

"No way, Alec! What's with you and mixing with the wrong guys!?"

He knew they aren't in good terms with Aiden before now, so he saw no reason why Alec was doing this.

"It's a test and a trap, Leo. But you know what? Aiden failed the rest and is falling into the trap" Alec responded coldly now.

"What test are you talking about and why is helping him a trap?"

"The test first, I asked that he give up his beta in return, and he agreed. How selfish can an alpha be!? The trap? I know that alpha Aiden will not let go of him to fulfill his end of the deal, not because he cares, but because he thinks he can eat his cake and still have it" Alec explained

"Oh I see" Leo said brushing his lips with his fingers and dimming his eyes.

He was trying to think how the last part is actually a trap but he feigned to be understanding.

Alec knew this and said, "In my hands, the Creek pack will meet the doom they have been trying to escape, once Widen fails to fulfill his promise. His biggest mistake was agreeing to my terms in the first place. If he hadn't, I'd have helped with no single condition and now that he has, he will face my punishment if he eventually refused to keep his words"

Leo widened his eyes in amazement.

"That's it! The trap. Bingo" Leo exclaimed again.

"Let's do this" he said grinning broadly at Alec now.

Alec shook his head.

"The nematodes leave by dawn after the immersion ritual at the base of the Lake of Oasis, we shall lie in wait and give them the big surprise"..

"Please, inform the crowd and get them ready, we leave in the early hours of dawn. Send a word to Aiden too, we have got no time" Alec concluded and stood up to live.

"Okay, Alec, let's do this" Leo said again as they both headed out of the warehouse.
