Chapter Fifty

When I woke up, I could still smell the four she-wolves Matt had brought here, I wrinkled my nose at the scent of stale alcohol and way too much cheap perfume. I went to the sink, filling my glass with cold water, I felt eyes on my back. I looked over my shoulder to see Matt leaning on the kitchen island. "Good morning," I greeted him, I was still aggravated about last night but didn't want him to know that, yet.

"Sorry about last night, I was too drunk to know what was happening," he explained.

I didn't answer right away. I turned to face him, "I don't understand you," I said honestly. "You know your friends are with me, but you try to undermine our relationship and our bond every chance you get," I wanted him to explain himself.

"You're right," he sighed. "I wanted to go back to a time when things were simpler. Taking over as Alpha is a big deal," he looked down at his hands.
