His Apology

I was in disbelief. Sofia actually wanted my company's assistance for her business? How could she have the audacity to create a scene and humiliate me in front of everyone, only to turn around and ask for my help?

"Seriously? So now she needs me? What a terrible move she made!" I exclaimed, my voice dripping with sarcasm.

Marcus glanced at me, his eyes filled with sympathy.

"I'm sorry for her behavior. She's just going through a tough time because of her family's recent misfortune," he tried to explain, defending her.

But I couldn't care less about her family's troubles. All I could think about was the way she had publicly embarrassed me, especially in front of important business associates.
