Farren's Point of View

They stood as one when Mrs. Parades stepped out of the house and into the garden beyond. Smiled at her with flashing white teeth. But their eyes would trail towards me as I followed. Took in the displeased look on my face and simply brushed it off as nothing. Because they saw nothing wrong with what they had done.

How could they when they had been taught all their lives that violence was okay?

Underneath the irritated scowl, I was seething. Felt my cool rage rise and fall as if it had a life of its own. Breathed in the timid air and released flames from my lungs.
