Chapter 84

Camilo's Point of View

Blame it on the crips weather. Blame it on post-sex happiness. Blame it on the fact that Farren now lived with me indefinitely. Blame it on whatever you wanted but we had decided to hold our morning meeting outside in the garden instead of in the office.

Alejandro had spread himself out on his lounge chair. Basked in the sun, with his hair shining in the rays. Rafael had donned a pair of sunglasses, his laptop set to max brightness on his lap. I had put on some shorts and a short-sleeved button-down shirt.

The air was practically humming at us. With birds singing in the distance and our guards talking into their earpieces all across the lawn, nothing felt better. More relaxing. Except for when Rafael brought up the plague looming at our front door as of late.

"Are we going to open up a different distribution line to try and stop the thefts from happening?" The man asked and tipped his sunglass forward so that I could see his eyes.
