Chapter Six

Selena looked at piece of paper in her hands; the resume that Darral had written for her and given her earlier that morning. Since she didn't have time to read it, she still had no idea of what was written in it. She then looked at the tall building in front of her. She was feeling uneasy about Owen, Andrew and Darral's idea but she had already agreed to do it and there was noway she was backing out of it. Selena March was not one to back out of anything that she had agreed to do, especially a task that would most likely put her in Interpol.

With her dreams of Interpol in mind, she walked into the ten storey building in front of her; The manufacturing company known as  Gratia Plena. It was a very famous manufacturing company and it offered legal advice as well. A lot of products from the super market were either from Gratia Plena or Timmy's. It was well known that the two companies were rivals but it was quite obvious which of the two was a more well known business.

At the entrance, there was a lady seated by a brown fancy looking table and a spinning leather chair. The lady looked around the same age as Selena with blonde hair in a neat bun and a stylish businessy look to her. She was chatting happily on the phone while spinning on the chair. Selena glanced at the name tag on the desk. It read Miss Wanda Bloom. Gratia Plena Secretary.

"Good morning miss Bloom." Selena greeted. "I am here to see Mr Parker."

Wanda glared up at Selena. The look was one which made Selena start feeling self conscious. "Get lost. No one wants you here."

"Excuse me?" Selena said feeling startled by her tone. Wanda looked at her and frowned. Selena knew there and then that she dislike the Witch_ the Wanda. "I am here for a job interview."

"Do you have an appointment?" Wanda said before hanging up. She looked at Selena like she was an unwelcome pest in her presence.

Selena frowned. "I did not know that I was supposed to have one."

Wanda smiled in a not so friendly way. "Well ma'am, this is not your bedroom so you cannot waltz in whenever you feel like it. This is a very important business establishment so please do the Parker family a favour and leave. Thank you."

Wanda then turned and opened a book, ignoring Selena. Selena took a deep breath to control her sudden urge to shoot her _ Darral already warned her against it. The Parker family the Wi_ Wanda was referring to was Asaiah Parker, Asriel Parker and Ataliah Parker: Three siblings working together in rough business world _  at least those were the words in the tabloids. Asaiah and Asriel were fraternal twins, Asaiah was the older one of the two. Ataliah was four years younger than her brothers.

"Miss Bloom, I really need to speak with Mr Parker." Selena said as calmly as she could. Wanda glared up at her.

"Which one?" Wanda said without looking up at her, it was as if she really wanted Selena to disappear. Selena was at a loss for words at just how unnecessarily impolite the Secretary was being. Was she some royal pain in the _

"Asriel Parker." Selena answered. She was finding it annoying to talk to Wanda.

"If you had an appointment with him then you would have known that he is not here. He has an important meeting with a special client of his." Wanda said dismissively. Selena felt like exploding.

"Excuse me miss Witchy Broom." Selena spat. She smiled triumphantly when Wanda glared at her for the name insult. "If this is how you treat your guests here at Gratia plena then you might as well quit your job because you clearly do not want it. What if I am client? What if I am a relative of the Parker siblings? What if I am the one sent from heaven to finally shoot your big head off? I want a job here and I will not leave until I get an interview with Mr Parker."

Selena felt like a hero when she saw how red Wanda looked. Someone had to teach the Witch some of the office etiquette that Selena had spent three sleepless days and nights learning. The Wanda smiled nastily and picked up a telephone on her desk, her eyes not leaving Selena's.

"Hello security, we have a crazy woman here claiming to be a client, a relative of the Parkers and a serial killer from heaven." Wanda's smile widened when she saw Selena's face turn pale. "Yes, please do come quickly."

Wanda hang up and gave Selena a sickeningly sweet smile. Just then three bulky men walked in from different directions, all heading straight towards Selena. She didn't even have time to show that she was impressed by their time management before she was carried out on the shoulder of one of them. She glared at the man when he put her down outside the building at the parking lot. He ignored her look and walked back inside without a second glance.

Selena huffed in annoyance and crossed her arms. She had a new mental to do list and she had to do it fast.

1. Find Asriel Parker.

2. Get a job.

3. Gag the Witchy Wanda.

4. Shoot the Witch's mouth off.

The last two were probably a bad idea but that wasn't her concern at that moment. She needed to find a way into Gratia plena as an employee and she was not going to let anyone stop her. All she had to do was think, she was a smart detective after all.

Asriel Parker was a celebrity and there was another murder that had just occurred that involved him. Just those two factors were more than enough to get a man flooded with a lot of news vans, the media and the paparazzi. Poor man was probably having a hard time.

If he was hiding from the media, it would make others suspicious of his behaviour and probably negatively affect his business so he was not in hiding. If he wasn't in hiding it meant that he was being followed around and finding him wouldn't be a difficult task.

She pulled out her phone and typed in his name. She couldn't help but smile at the results after tapping the search bar. Asriel Parker was having lunch with two men at some restaurant which was only a thirty minute drive from where she was. The poor man obviously had to go to public restaurants just to keep his reputation clean.

She pocketed her phone and rushed to the roadside to wave a taxi. Almost immediately, a taxi stopped in front of her. Some mysterious force was definitely on her side

"Where to ma'am?" The driver asked.

"Take me to Maré Cibum, Please." The driver nodded and started the car. They arrived within twenty eight minutes and Selena couldn't be more thankful. She paid the man and got out of the car.

She looked at the restaurant's exterior and she knew for a fact that it was a very fancy place. She spotted people hiding besides the building and taking pictures through the window. Asriel was seated right there with two other men in a conversation; just like in the picture on social media. Inside she could see other journalists disguised as guests and others were outside disguised as passerbys. Selena scoffed at all of them and their pathetic disguises. The passerbys weren't even passing, they were just standing awkwardly and stalking the poor man.

She decided to ignore them and focus on her mission. She walked into the resultant and searched for Asriel with her eyes, there was nothing else more important than that at the moment. She saw the back of his head and started walking towards him.

She reached where he was seated and stood there. Three pairs of eyes looked up at her but she was only interested in one grey pair of eyes _ the owner of the eyes, that is.

"Good morning Mr Parker. I am so glad I could finally find you." Selena said happily. Asriel frowned at her, clearly displeased by her sudden appearance and interruption of whatever he was talking about with the men.

"What is it that you people want this time? I made it very clear that I will sue whatever Media company approaches me for another annoying interrogation." Asriel said in annoyance.

Selena laughed at his statement and waved dismissively. She surprised all three men by suddenly sitting down besides him. Just then, a man that Selena hadn't noticed earlier appeared behind her and grabbed her by her shoulder, ready to yank her out of the seat and throw her out. Selena was ready to react but thought better of it _ she needed to talk to Asriel Parker.

"Please hear me out sir." Selena pleaded, her eyes solely on Asriel. Asriel lifted his hand and waved his bodyguard away. Selena smiled thankfully. The mysterious force was working wonders again.

"It is okay Zach, I am not in any immediate danger." Asriel said. Zach let go of Selena but with a skeptical look on his face. He walked away, disappearing into the crowd in the process.

Asriel stared at the strange lady next to him, his face a blank mask to hide what he was really thinking. She was beautiful but he was more concerned about what she really wanted. She also stared right back at him, clearly trying but failing miserably to decipher his thoughts. One of the men seated across them cleared his throat, catching both of their attentions. For a moment, the two had forgotten that there were two other people at the table with them.

"Shall we continue this later?" One of the men said. "It will give you more time to think about it."

Asriel nodded and the men shook hands. Immediately the two men stood up and left, Selena also stood up and went to take the place of the other two men. The table only had two glasses of wine where the men were seated and a cup of coffee where Asriel was seated. His pale grey eyes were still on her and she was starting to feel self conscious again.

"Thank you for giving me a chance to speak to you Mr Parker." Selena said nervously. Asriel glanced at his watch and took a sip of his coffee before focusing his attention on her again.

"You have twenty-one minutes to talk. I still have work to do so get to it. Who are you?" Asriel said in one breath.

"I am Selena March, your newest employee." Selena said stretching out her hand for a greeting. Asriel looked at her hand and back at her face. He was clearly a man of eye contact.

"No you are not." Asriel said with a frown. There was a glint in his eye that scared Selena for some unknown reason. There was a lot more to Asriel Parker than she knew. "If I was getting a new employee then I would have known about it. I only have thirty nine people working directly under me at Gratia plena and I know all of their names. Last chance, who are you?"

Selena dropped her hand and her gaze, unconsciously biting her lip nervously. She needed to get the job if she wanted to get into Interpol and she was going to make sure she did, even if it meant working for the handsome mysterious man I'm front of her.

She met his eyes and swallowed. "Like I said Mr Parker, I am Selena March and I am your newest employee."

Asriel raised his right eyebrow and leaned in tiwards to her, a small unfriendly smile on his lips. It gave Selena chills but she still held his intimidating gaze.

"Determined are we not?" He whispered to himself. "What is it that you want really Selena?"

"I want a job at Gratia plena, Mr Parker." Selena said. It was getting harder to keep eye contact with him. So much so that her eyes were watering. Still she did not want to give up _ at least she had an advantage of staring at his handsome face without being pointed at as a weirdo.

"Really?" Asriel cocked his head to the side, some strands of his hair falling on his face. "I thought you were my newest employee."

"It is important to be positive Mr Parker. After all, in business you have to speak and be what you want hence projecting the good results." It was only after she said that statement that she realised that she had read that on the cover of the magazine on Wanda's table.

"Selena," Asriel said while leaning back in his seat. "Blink."

"Hmmm?" Selena was confused. How did the conversation change from what she wanted to her blinking? Was it not enough that her eyes were watering because of staring at him?

She face palmed herself when realisation struck. Her eyes were not watering because she was keeping eye contact with Asriel _ they were watering because she wasn't blinking when staring at him. Now she was embarrassed.
